Xiamen Botanical Garden, also known as Wanshi Botanical Garden, is an important part of the Gulangyu-Wanshi Mountain National Key Scenic Spot. The garden scenery combines three characteristics: natural scenery, humanistic attractions, and plant landscaping. It has the largest outdoor succulent plant display area in China. It is a comprehensive botanical garden that integrates plant species preservation, scientific research, science education, development and application, ecological protection, and tourism services. It is a famous tourist destination in southern Fujian.

Xiamen Botanical Garden is located in Wanshi Mountain, in the southeastern corner of Xiamen Island. It is carefully designed around the Wanshiyan Reservoir, with the Pine and Cypress Garden, Rose Garden, Palm Garden, Shade Shelter, Introduced Plant Area, Medicinal Plant Garden, Giant Cactus Garden, Hundred Flowers Hall, Orchid Garden and other 20 specialized gardens and planting areas arranged in sequence, cultivating more than 3,000 species of tropical and subtropical plants, and including a national wild animal and plant protection and nature reserve construction project – the Palm Plant Conservation Center.

02. Don’t go to the Rose Garden and the Hundred Flowers Hall in winter, there are no flowers.

There are sightseeing buses in the park, with the route: South China Fir Grassland Parking Lot (starting point) – Tianjie Temple – Rainforest World – Xerosere Plant Area – Cactus World, Tendril Plant Area – Taipingyan Temple Intersection – Science Base, Flower Garden Intersection – National Defense Garden (terminal station). General ticket: 10 yuan/person, valid for the day, can be used multiple times, invalidated upon leaving the park. Single ticket: 5 yuan/person, valid for one ride, invalidated upon getting off. Operating hours: Starts at 8:00, 17:00 (winter last bus), 17:20 (summer last bus), one bus every 20 minutes.

04. The Botanical Garden is located in the center of Xiamen, with Nanputuo Temple and Xiamen University behind it, and is adjacent to the Zhongshan Road business district, about 1 kilometer from Zhongshan Road. Therefore, you can visit Nanputuo Temple and Xiamen University together. You can have meals near Zhongshan Road or Xiamen University. There are many cheap options. Just bring some water and dry food when you visit the park.
