Dongyi Culture Park

Huangshan Dongyi Culture Park is a national 4A-level tourist attraction, mainly built on the basis of the provincial key cultural relics protection unit – Huangshan. The whole Huangshan area is rich in historical sites, not only with a variety of tombs of different dynasties, such as Han tombs and Ming dynasty commanders, but also archaeological excavations of prehistoric Neolithic village ruins. According to archaeological experts, about 5,000 years ago, this was once a prehistoric Dongyi ancient village, an important place where the cultural context of the Dongyi period in the land of Qi and Lu originated and was carried, and Yimeng culture originated from Dongyi culture.

The entire scenic area is planned based on its superior geographical location, historical culture and green ecological resources, taking Dongyi culture as the theme. Dongyi Culture Museum

Linyi Dongyi Culture Museum is located at the foot of Huangshan Mountain in the northwest of the national-level Linyi Economic and Technological Development Zone. It is surrounded by mountains and rivers, with beautiful scenery. It is currently the first state-owned museum in China with Dongyi culture as its theme. It is located in the national 4A-level tourist attraction – Dongyi Culture Park.

Linyi Dongyi Culture Museum was planned and designed by China Architecture Design & Research Group, a top domestic planning and design institute. It has eight exhibition halls and two cinemas, including exhibition halls of Dongyi cultural history from prehistoric times to the pre-Qin period, archaeological exhibition halls, customs exhibition halls, agricultural exhibition halls, craft exhibition halls, handicraft exhibition halls, social exhibition halls and Yi-Xia fusion halls. These wonderful chapters allow the Dongyi civilization in prehistoric times to be better presented through the display of cultural relics.

So far, Linyi Dongyi Culture Museum has collected more than 850 cultural relics. The collection is mainly from local archaeological excavations and folk collections, and has typical local characteristics and high research value. Among them, the pottery and stone tools of the Neolithic Age are particularly abundant: the eggshell pottery high-footed cup that is “as thin as paper, as hard as porcelain, as bright as a mirror, and as black as lacquer”; the pottery pot with a unique shape; the finely polished stone axe, stone shovel, and double-hole stone knife. Its cultural and historical value has provided a large amount of material data for the study of China’s Dongyi culture.
