Shanghai Disney is definitely worth a visit. Although the price is a bit expensive, it is still very valuable to experience various dream trips here with children. It’s really value for money, there’s nothing to regret, after all, children’s growth is the most important. Below I will share with you a one-day tour guide and the best route for Shanghai Disney.
Disney is a dreamland for children!
I wanted to go when it opened in 2016, but I didn’t because of the huge crowds. This summer vacation, after finishing the exams, participating in the competition, and finishing summer school, I drove directly to Suzhou!
After resting and recuperating for two days, we drove to Disney with my child early in the morning on August 1st, the Army Day! We arrived at the gate at 6:30 and there was already a long queue. The place was packed with people!
After queuing for half an hour outside the gate, we went to the ticket exchange and queued for another half an hour before we were able to enter the park. As soon as we entered, we ran, heading straight for the TRON Lightcycle Run. There was no need to queue, we checked in our bags and went in directly!
The inside is full of futuristic tech. I chatted with my son as we walked, saying I could skip it and wait for him below. He said it was ok.
We got to the scene and still got on. I closed my eyes directly. My son said next to me, open your eyes, so I tried to open them a little! Everything was ready and it started. Oh my God, it accelerated to 100km/h in three seconds. Thankfully I normally drive myself, otherwise I would have been really worried about getting off…
Acceleration-stop-dive-dive with a turn, and all sorts of torture. It finally ended, and everyone on the train was speechless. We were all stunned!

Next, we went to the Adventure Isle for the Thunder Mountain Flume. After queuing for a long time for the “Flight Over Horizon”, we went straight to the Flume area to queue. The queue was not ordinary long, at least an hour and a half later we finally boarded the dinghy. Two hours of queuing for two minutes of fun!
After playing TRON Lightcycle Run, all the other projects were child’s play…I only felt a little bit of excitement!
The scenery at Thunder Mountain is pretty good
After the Flume, we went to see if there were any Lightning Lane passes available for “Flight Over Horizon”. We had used the Lightning Lane passes two hours earlier for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Each person can only use the passes twice, and you have to wait two hours between each use! We got to “Flight Over Horizon” just in time to get the passes! Oh, no queueing, we’ll go and play something else first.
We headed straight for the Treasure Cove, “The Enchanted Jewel” didn’t seem to have many people, we queued for over an hour before getting on the ship, it was really great! There are two huge 360-degree panoramic screens inside, which are very impressive!

We left Treasure Cove and our legs were tired and our stomachs were even hungrier. We went straight to the Blue Bayou Restaurant and had a big pork chop set. The taste was okay, we were just too hungry. We accepted it as it wasn’t too bad. It was a lot!

After eating and drinking, we went to watch the show “The Legend of the Blue Bayou – Captain Jack Sparrow’s Stunt Spectacular”. The show also has wind tunnel stunts, which are amazing!
After watching the show, the time for our Lightning Lane pass for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train was coming up. The Lightning Lane pass was really fast, we went straight to the entrance and waited for a few groups of people before we got on. The queue along the way would have been at least two hours long (we met a little foreign boy on our way in and he greeted us. We were in a hurry and just smiled back as we rushed forward). This project is also a roller coaster, it’s a medium height coaster with a speed that’s not as fast as the TRON Lightcycle Run, and it’s outdoors!
After leaving the Mine Train, we wandered around the castle. Before long, we caught the Summer Carnival, which is outdoors. It’s a performance that sprays water while they perform, and the guests in the square are getting soaked. Luckily, we bought raincoats at the Flume area, and one raincoat was used twice, what a bargain! The kids really enjoyed the show!
Next, we’re going to go to Tomorrowland to play a little. We passed the carousel, there weren’t many people in line. I discussed it with my son and said, come and ride with me, I haven’t been on one for many years. Plus, the Disney carousel has four people in a row!
My son said okay. He said I was too childish, but he would ride with me anyway! After playing on the exciting roller coasters, riding the carousel didn’t feel anything, it was boring!
After the carousel, we ran straight to Tomorrowland’s “Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters”. The queue didn’t look long, but we still ended up queuing for over an hour. The up and down motion of the ride is controlled by yourself. My son let me take control of this task. I went up and down, making my son shout “don’t press it” in anxiety, haha.

After getting off “Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters”, we went straight to “Star Wars Launch Bay”. There was a short queue and we went in. I’m still good at shooting, with a total score of over 640,000.
We’ve pretty much played all the rides in Tomorrowland, so we continued to charge to Adventure Isle, hoping to get in line for “Flight Over Horizon”. Unfortunately, the queue was at least three hours long. Forget it, it’s dinner time. There’s a restaurant called “The Tribal Table” in Adventure Isle. We ordered a turkey leg set. Wow, the turkey leg was huge!
Is the turkey leg big or not
After eating our fill, we went to watch another show, “Tarzan: The Musical!”. The whole show is fantastic, I recommend it!
We finished watching the show, and it was completely dark. But we didn’t have any intention of going home. We continued to Treasure Cove and saw a group of children spraying water. So, my son joined the team. I told him to put on his raincoat, but he didn’t listen. He just went crazy with it and got soaked.
He only stopped playing when he was the only one left and he was completely soaked. He felt the cool breeze from the lake and finally said to me, let’s go somewhere else. We saw the fireworks rising from the castle, and we ran towards the castle. We only found a position where we could see the side of the castle. It was beautiful until the end.
At this point, the whole castle and the fountains in front of the castle turned into a huge screen. DreamWorks animations were projected one after another onto the castle, and the child unconsciously hummed along to the classic songs. The whole night was enveloped in beauty! Perfect!
