Taking advantage of the May Day Golden Week holiday plus annual leave, I had quite a bit of time. I didn’t want to be like my previous trips, where I felt like I was completing a task, and after returning, it took a few days to get rid of the fatigue. The meaning of travel is to relax. This trip to Sanya is a place I have longed for, so I have arranged more time to have fun and relax.
Time: May 1st – May 7th
Location: Sanya
All itineraries, including air tickets, hotel accommodation, and scenic spot tickets, were booked online by my lover in advance, which was very well planned.
Because I brought my camera but forgot the battery, the photos below are all taken with my phone, so the pixel is not high. (Suffering from the poison of my forgetfulness)
Sanya’s cuisine is mainly seafood, with a slightly lighter taste than Shandong cuisine, focusing on health preservation. Personally, I think Shandong people can accept it without difficulty.
The air ticket was booked in advance on Qunar.com, round-trip tickets for two people cost 3000 yuan. Generally speaking, the earlier you book, the cheaper it is, and the closer you are to the departure date, the more expensive it is. The airport will start issuing tickets 2 hours before departure, and you can exchange your boarding pass for your ID card at the airport. Security checks are done 1 hour before departure, and boarding is done 30 minutes before departure.
May 1st
Boarding at 1.30 pm, arriving at Sanya Phoenix Airport around 6 pm. Take bus No. 8 at the airport entrance to the first stop of our accommodation – Sanya Bay Mayflower Family Hotel. The family hotel costs 128 yuan per day. Although the area is not large, the design is unique. The main thing is that it is within walking distance of the beach. It is also close to the pedestrian street and the First Market. After dinner, you can stroll leisurely on the beach
Sanya Bay Beach
Dinner was a bowl of Lanzhou hand-pulled noodles nearby. After dinner, I went to a nearby store to buy slippers, mosquito repellent, and other small items. It is worth mentioning that the pace of life in Sanya seems to be particularly slow. There are people singing and dancing everywhere in the small park next to the beach.
May 2nd
Destination: West Island, Niuwangling Island
I joined a local group tour. The tour guide picked us up at our accommodation at 8 am and drove us to West Island. We took a ferry from the West Island port to West Island.
The sea in Sanya is so beautiful
My lover tried snorkeling on West Island, but I didn’t dare.
Lunch was a buffet barbecue on West Island. These are all included in the tour group, including the snorkeling fee
We returned to Sanya Bay at 5 pm. After a short rest at Mayflower, we went out for dinner. Dinner was a “Thai*Tea Restaurant” buffet that we bought on Meituan. The restaurant is located on the beach. I have eaten quite a few buffets in Sanya, but the buffet here is relatively fresh in terms of materials, and the variety is not very large, but I feel it is worth the money, and most of them are very refined.
May 3rd
The original plan was to join a group tour on the 4th as well, going to Wuzhizhou Island, but due to a typhoon, we were informed on the night of the 3rd that we could not go to the island on the 4th. So, we discussed it and decided to have a lie-in and then go to our next destination.
Therefore, we got up at 9 am, checked out, and had breakfast in a nearby alleyway. For breakfast, we had two of Sanya’s famous dishes, Bao Luo Fen and Hainan Fen. The taste was good, two portions cost 18 yuan.
After breakfast, we took a bus to our next destination, Zhujiang Nandian Hot Spring Resort. Lunch was at the Chinese restaurant in the resort.
I have to say that this is the most beautiful place we have stayed in Sanya, surpassing the sea view room we stayed in later. It costs 580 yuan a day, comes with two hot spring tickets, free buffet breakfast, and a small villa with its own yard.

The small villa we stayed in
In the afternoon, the hotel had a free shuttle to the duty-free shop. It was packed with people inside.
May 4th, we had breakfast at the hotel’s buffet, which was delicious as usual. After breakfast, we soaked in the hot springs. I’m not going to upload photos of the hot springs.
We checked out at noon and arrived at our most anticipated destination – the Aegean Coast Resort in Yalong Bay, and successfully checked into a sea view room. In reality, a sea view room at a reasonable price is not the kind where you can see the entire ocean when you open the curtains. It’s just that you can see the ocean from one side of the balcony, and it’s very close. There are resort hotels everywhere in Yalong Bay. When we were having dinner at the hotel, we said, “After dinner, let’s go for a walk in front of our house and look at the sea.” It’s not an exaggeration at all. The sea is right outside the door, it’s that close.
The beach outside the villa, peaceful and beautiful
The sea I saw from the balcony
The hotel offers free buffet breakfast and dinner, which were delicious as usual.
The next night was seafood hot pot. We had a delicious meal.
Some of the dishes, there are many more
May 5th
Location: Tropical Paradise Forest Park (Filming location for “Love is Not Blind”)
It takes about 10 minutes by bus from the Aegean Coast Resort we stayed at to the Forest Park.
The Aegean Sea
The suspension bridge is over 700 meters long. It’s a bit scary to walk on it.
It was already 2 pm when we returned to the hotel from the forest park. Since there was a simple kitchen in the room, we cooked noodles. We bought the noodles the day before. After eating and taking a short nap, we went for a walk on the beach in front of the hotel.
May 6th
We slept in and the hotel offered free photo taking for us.
We checked out at noon and the hotel arranged a shuttle to the GreenTree Inn near the airport.
Lunch was takeout at GreenTree Inn, and dinner was at a Northeastern restaurant nearby that we found on Meituan. The braised pork was delicious.

Return trip
Sanya trip ends successfully.
The biggest feeling I got from this trip is that Sanya is truly beautiful and clean. It’s not an exaggeration to describe this city as pristine. After returning from Sanya, I watched “Love is Not Blind” again, and all those beautiful scenes, I’d actually seen them.
Life is not as interesting as Ge’s humor, but a trip made me trust the man who has always been by my side even more. It’s good to travel to all those beautiful places with the one you love, and leave behind those beautiful memories!
