2. Introduction of Yabuli Ski Resort

Yabuli Ski Resort is located in the southeast of Shangzhi City, 193 kilometers from Harbin City. The original Russian name is Yabloni, which means “orchard.”

During the Qing Dynasty, it was a hunting ground for the royal family and Manchu nobles. Yabuli Ski Resort is the largest ski resort in China and also the largest comprehensive snow sports training center in China. It is located in the vast hinterland surrounded by the Daguo Kui Mountain, Erguo Kui Mountain and Sanguo Kui Mountain, the remaining branches of the Changbai Mountain Range.

The ski resort was built in 1980 and is affiliated to the Heilongjiang Provincial Sports Committee. It is mainly composed of five competition and training venues, including alpine skiing, freestyle skiing, ski jumping, cross-country skiing and biathlon skiing, and two tourist ski resorts.

The ski center is divided into two ski areas: one is the Yabuli Competition Ski Resort, which is mainly used to host international and domestic competitions, and can also be used by skiers with intermediate and advanced ski skills; the other area is the Windmill Villa Ski Resort, which is mainly for skiers of different levels to engage in tourism skiing and general competitive skiing.

3. Transportation Guide

Yabuli Railway Station has multiple trains stopping every day. You can take the 3-hour power train (locally known as “bullet train”) from Harbin to Yabuli, the round trip fare is about 60 yuan; it takes 2 hours to take the train from Mudanjiang to Yabuli. Among them, the time is more suitable: Harbin-Mishan K611 at 16:39, Harbin-Mudanjiang T409 at 8:00, T411: 14:20 (Beijing has a direct train to Mudanjiang). One thing to note: all trains only stop at Yabuli for 2 minutes, and you must prepare to get off before entering the station.

It takes about 20 minutes to take a minibus from Yabuli Railway Station to Yabuli Ski Resort.

Harbin has opened a highway that directly connects to Yabuli. It takes about 3 hours to drive from Harbin Airport to Windmill Villa (about 230 kilometers) via the expressway; take long-distance buses 877, 977, and 978 from Harbin Nanchang Road Passenger Transport Station to Yabuli Town, and transfer to a minibus to the destination. Harbin Longyun Passenger Transport Station has a tour bus to Yabuli Windmill Villa at 8:00 and 13:20 every day.

The toll station at 0 kilometers from Harbin exit to Yabuli toll station at 197 kilometers, the highway exit to the ski resort cable car station is 22 kilometers. The highway charges one-way (for small cars) 37 yuan, the ski resort gate charges 10 yuan per person, and 15 yuan per car.

During the Skiing Festival and Ice and Snow Festival, there are special line tour buses every day at Swan Hotel, New World Northern Hotel, Kailai Business Hotel and other places.
