Practical Travel Guide

About Transportation:

Generally, when traveling to Snow Town, the departure stations are Harbin, Yabuli, Erlanghe or Mudanjiang, with the most being Harbin. There are only buses going straight to Snow Town from Harbin. For trains, it is usually suggested to switch to a bus to Snow Town at Yabuli. The bus fare from Harbin to Snow Town is around 120 yuan, and it takes 5-6 hours. The boarding location is at the Harbin Passenger Transportation Station.

If you want to transfer from Yabuli, you can choose to take a train or a bus to Yabuli, then take a bus to Snow Town from Yabuli. The bus ride takes 2-3 hours and costs 80 yuan. The reason for transferring from Erlanghe is that you can choose to go through the Great Bald Mountain from here. The bus fare from Harbin to Erlanghe is 100 yuan. Additionally, there is no direct train from Mudanjiang to Snow Town, so you can choose to take a direct bus, which takes 4 hours and costs around 50 yuan.

Of course, many people will choose to charter or share a ride. The price for a small chartered car is 800 yuan per day, and 1500 yuan round trip. The price for a larger car will be higher. However, there are many risks involved with chartering or sharing a ride, as you cannot be sure if they have official documents, who the people sharing the ride are, and whether they have insurance. Therefore, you must be cautious when chartering a vehicle.

About Accommodation:

Accommodation is a concern for many people. As mentioned above, the journey to Snow Town is not short. If you go back to the city at night, it will be very tight on time. So choosing to stay in Snow Town or nearby is also one of the best options.

Snow Town is located in Shuangfeng Forest Farm in the jurisdiction of the Daheling Forestry Bureau of Mudanjiang City. The remote geographical location has led to the primitive accommodation here, mostly rural kangs. In recent years, many bed and breakfasts and star-rated hotels have been built gradually. Therefore, you can now stay in normal beds in Snow Town. At present, the entire Snow Town can accommodate approximately 25,000 people, which is enough to meet the needs of tourists.

Accommodation in Snow Town can be divided into three categories: bed and breakfast kangs, RVs, and star-rated hotels. Of these three options, bed and breakfast kangs are the cheapest. They are mostly built and operated by local people or people from other places, and the accommodation conditions vary. For example, a room with an independent bathroom costs around 800 yuan, while a regular room without an independent bathroom costs around 400 yuan, both of which can accommodate 4-6 people. At the same time, accommodations near Snow Rhyme Street will be slightly more expensive than those further away.

It is recommended to stay at an inn near Snow Rhyme Street, as it is more lively there, and it will be more convenient to see the night view at night.
