Mine Pit Garden

Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden Mine Pit Garden is one of the scenic spots in Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden. It is located in the northwest corner of Chenshan Botanical Garden, near the northwest entrance. It was designed by Professor Zhu Yuhuan of Tsinghua University and built by Qingyuan Depu Floating Bridge Co., Ltd. The original site of the mine pit is related to natural terrain such as waterfalls, natural barriers, plank roads, and water curtain caves, deepening people’s understanding of nature. Utilizing the texture of the existing mountain, the deep carving makes it have the form and artistic conception of Chinese landscape painting. The Mine Pit Garden highlights the theme of restorative gardens and is one of the top horticultural gardens in China.

North American Plant Area

North America and the Chinese mainland are both located on the east coast of the subtropical monsoon climate. The North American plant area of Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden plants suitable plants native to North America in the form of vertical forests and flower mirrors. Tropical Exhibition Greenhouse

The exhibition greenhouse is located inside Gate 2 in the northeast corner of Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden. It is a group of greenhouses composed of three single-temperature greenhouses: the Tropical Flower and Fruit House, the Desert Plant House, and the Rare Plant House, with a total area of 12,608 square meters. Among them, the Tropical Flower and Fruit House covers an area of 5,521 square meters and is 21 meters high. It consists of the Exotic Garden, Palm Plaza, and Economic Plant Area; the Desert Plant House covers an area of 4,320 square meters and is 19 meters high. It collects and displays desert plants from Australia, Africa, and the Americas; the Rare Plant House covers an area of 2,767 square meters and is 16 meters high. It collects and displays the unique types of plants that show the survival and evolution of plants, such as tropical rainforest phenomena, insectivorous plants, cycads, ferns, orchids and pineapples, etc.

Bus:

1. Take Metro Line 9 to Dongjing Station, transfer to Songjiang 19 Road, 96 Road to Gate 1; or transfer to Songjiang 95 Road at Sheshan Station to Gate 1.

2. Songjiang 95 Road, Songzhu Line can reach Gate 2.

3. Songjiang 95 Road can reach Gate 3.

Self-driving:

1. Take G60 Shanghai-Kunming Expressway to Songjiang New Town Exit, turn left onto Jiason Highway, turn left onto Chenhua Road to reach Gate 1, turn left onto Shenzhuan Highway, turn left onto Shetian Kun Highway to reach Gate 2.

2. Take G50 Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway to Zhao’xiang Exit, turn left onto Jiason Highway, turn south to Chenhua Road, turn right to reach Gate 1, turn left onto Shenzhuan Highway, turn left onto Shetian Kun Highway to reach Gate 2.
