LuPu Bridge-XuPu Bridge
Route length: about 8 kilometers
Route passes through: World Expo Park (under LuPu Bridge)-Houtan riverside-Yaohua riverside-Qiantan Friendship City Park-Qiantan Leisure Park-Sanlin Riverside Greenery-Nanqiang (under XuPu Bridge)
World Expo Park
World Expo Park under LuPu Bridge can be used as the starting point for this “crashing into the south wall” cycling trip. World Expo Park covers an area of about 230,000 square meters.
The original site of the park was the No. 3 Shanghai Steel Mill and the Jiangnan Shipyard. Two of the original cranes were preserved and became the most prominent landmarks in the park.
The entire park is like a delicate Chinese fan, elegantly opening in the breeze along the Huangpu River, presenting a three-dimensional green scroll.
Houtan Riverside
Houtan Riverside has important wetlands in Shanghai’s urban area, like a piece of pure land in the city. Lujiazui on the east bank of the Huangpu River is shaped like a bird’s beak, and Houtan is the bird’s toes.
On this cycling route, you can enjoy rich and eye-catching vegetation. Especially in summer, the lush green can bring a sense of healing. There is also a large lotus pond here, which you should definitely check out in summer.
Yaohua Riverside
After leaving Houtan Riverside, you will enter the next section of the cycling path – Yaohua Riverside. Everyone may know Yaohua Riverside because it is a famous green space on the Pudong riverside where people can set up tents.
Actually, the cycling path here is very flat and smooth, with a wide view.
Qiantan Friendship City Park
Crossing the Chuanyang River Bridge, you will arrive at Qiantan Friendship City Park.
The park is located on the bank of the Huangpu River west of the Oriental Sports Center, north of Chuanyang River, south of Xiao Huangpu River, facing Xuhui Riverside, with a 600-meter-long beautiful riverfront, with a wide view.
Qiantan Leisure Park
The Qiantan Leisure Park, seamlessly connected with Qiantan Friendship City Park, has curved lawns and green paths up close, and a view of ships passing on the Huangpu River and egrets flying in the distance.
Sanlin Riverside Greenery
Continue cycling south, and there will be fewer and fewer people. Only the determined will continue to persevere. Maybe you will discover a painted creative tree hole unintentionally.
Nanqiang
Nanqiang is located under XuPu Bridge, and it is also the end of the Pudong east bank riverside cycling path.
The entire wall uses “victory finish line” as the creative element, with bright graffiti and painting, with conspicuous “22KM”, “East Bank”, “Nanqiang” words, which are very fashionable and suitable for checking in and taking photos.
