The Water Quality of Danjiangkou

The entire reservoir covers 700 square kilometers, and the residents along the riverbanks of the reservoir have been nourished by this water quality.

This is the source of Nongfu Spring and the origin of Wudang Mountain Spring. Although Wudang Mountain Spring has not gained much fame, its sales volume in the local area far exceeds Nongfu Spring. The “South-to-North Water Diversion” Project
Danjiangkou is also the water source for the “South-to-North Water Diversion Middle Route Project”. This project connects Nanyang, Xuchang, Zhengzhou, Beijing and other cities more closely. It can be said that “a clear stream runs through mountains and islands, connecting thousands of fires together”.
As the saying goes, one place nourishes one group of people. Due to the terrain here, Danjiangkou has indeed benefited many local people. It is not only the source of water, but also the best area for local residents to survive.
The scenery on the dam is beautiful, offering a panoramic view of the reservoir area and the entire city of Danjiangkou. Unfortunately, the exhibition hall has been closed for many years.
The Danjiangkou Dam is 2.5 kilometers long, with a maximum dam height of 97 meters and a crest elevation of 162 meters. It has six generating units with a total installed capacity of 900,000 kilowatts. The average annual power generation is 4 billion kilowatt-hours.
The source of the South-to-North Water Diversion, the dam is magnificent. Standing on the top of the dam, you can see the vast river on one side and the fields on the other, a breathtaking sight!
The admission fee here is 20 yuan per person, and you can walk to the top of the dam for a view. The panoramic view is amazing!
