There are many national archaeological relic parks in China, and many of them are still under construction and improvement. The Ping Shan Zhong Shan National Relic Park in Henan has attracted a lot of attention from citizens since its construction, and people are eager to see it. Recently, the Ping Shan Zhong Shan National Relic Park has been opened. So how to get to the Ping Shan Zhong Shan National Relic Park?
Where is the Ping Shan Zhong Shan National Relic Park?
The Zhongshan Ancient City Ruins are located in the Sanji Township of Pingshan County, Shijiazhuang. The Zhongshan Ancient City is the site of the ancient capital of the Ling Shou City, the capital of the Zhongshan Kingdom, established by the Xian Yu tribe of the Bai Di people, a northern ethnic group.
The Zhongshan Ancient City Archaeological Ruins Park covers a total area of 3,339 hectares, with a total display area of 1,130 hectares. It is planned as a structure with “one heart, one ring, two axes, two wings, and multiple pieces”, which includes the Warring States Period Zhongshan King’s Tomb Exhibition Area, the Zhongshan Ancient City Ruins Museum (including the archaeological workstation), the Huan Gong Tomb Ruins Exhibition Area, the Warring States Period Zhongshan Ancient City Site Exhibition Area, and the Warring States Period Zhongshan Kingdom Dongbao City Ruins Exhibition Area (within Ling Shou) and other 14 sub-projects.
The overall construction of the park will be divided into three phases, which will be completed in about 3 to 4 years, and will gradually form a national-level archaeological relic park that integrates heritage protection, scientific display, archaeological research, and ecological low-carbon development.
National archaeological relic parks are specific public spaces that are based on important archaeological sites and their background environment, and have functions of scientific research, education, and recreation. They are considered to have national demonstrative significance in terms of archaeological site protection and display, and are praised as the highest honor in the domestic cultural relics and archaeological circles.

The Zhongshan Ancient City Ruins are located in the Sanji Township of Pingshan County. In recent years, following the spirit of the central government’s instructions on “bringing to life the heritage displayed on the vast land”, Pingshan County has strengthened the protection of the Zhongshan Ancient City Ruins, establishing a sound management system, setting up the Zhongshan Ancient City Ruins Management Office, installing security equipment, improving law enforcement supervision and safety supervision levels. Specialized protection and control policies have been introduced, and no project will be approved within the protection zone. The Wangcuo Tomb environmental renovation, Wangcuo Tomb protection display, Huan Gong Tomb of the Zhongshan Kingdom Ancient City Ruins, and the construction of the Zhongshan King’s Tomb Cultural Relics Exhibition Hall have been initiated.
While doing a good job in cultural relic protection, the county has strengthened the construction of the ancient city ruins in accordance with the construction plan of the Zhongshan Ancient City Ruins Park, promoting the development of the Wangcuo Tomb area, and effectively improving the supporting facilities, transportation environment, etc. in the ruins area. Building the Zhongshan Cultural and Creative Museum, the Zhongshan Kingdom Cultural Outdoor Experience Hall and other Zhongshan cultural and creative areas further extends the industrial chain and realizes the transformation of cultural resources into tourism industry.
