1、Liujia Ancient Town
Liujia Ancient Town was built in the tenth year of Shaoxing during the Southern Song Dynasty (AD 1140), with a history of nearly a thousand years. It has experienced many ups and downs and has been rebuilt several times. Looking down at Liujia Ancient Town, it resembles a carp swimming in the embrace of Wufeng Mountain, Yuping Mountain, Yangcun River, and Huaxi River. Due to its location in the West Sichuan Rain Screen, Liujia has a humid climate and is often enveloped in a thin mist, making “Misty Liujia” its most distinctive visual symbol. Liujia has gradually become a tourist destination for exploring ancient history, relaxing, and sightseeing.
2、Waya Mountain
Waya Mountain Geopark is located in Hongya County, Meishan City, Sichuan Province. Within the scenic area, there are 82 peaks, 84 ridges, 108 springs, and 72 waterfalls. From the top, you can see Mount Emei to the east, Mount Gongga to the west, the Qionglai Mountains to the north, and the Shaikinshan Mountain to the south. Waya Mountain Geopark is divided into five scenic areas: the mountaintop plateau, Gufoping, Shuangdongxi, Daiguozao, and Yanu Lake, covering a total area of about 74 square kilometers. The area of the Waya Mountain plateau is about 11 square kilometers, surrounded by cliffs. The scenic area is 220 kilometers from Chengdu, 100 kilometers from Hongya County, and 90 kilometers from Mount Emei. It forms a “Golden Triangle” of tourism in Southwest Sichuan along with Mount Emei and the Leshan Giant Buddha scenic area.
3、Gaomiao Ancient Town
Gaomiao Ancient Town is surrounded by mountains and shrouded in clouds and mist all year round. The Zhang River and the Li River converge here. Looking down at Gaomiao Ancient Town, the houses are all made of wood with tile roofs. There is still a well-preserved old street. The ancient town still preserves an ancient guild hall called Wanshougong, as well as the Wushenggong Opera House, the Huaxiyuan Stone Carvings, the Martyrs’ Bridge Pavilion, the Jile Temple Stone Sculptures, and the Er’e Mountain, forming unique tourist attractions in Gaomiao Ancient Town. It has been used as an exterior filming location for numerous film and television works and as a place for painters to sketch.
4、Qiliping
Qiliping International Resort is located in the southwest of Hongya County, at the foot of Mount Emei. It is 65 kilometers from the county town, 3.5 kilometers from Mount Emei, and 58 kilometers from Waya Mountain National Forest Park. The average altitude is 1300 meters. It is well connected by three mountain loop roads, making it easily accessible for tourism. The forest coverage rate in this scenic area is as high as 95%, the average annual temperature is 12 degrees, and the water is pure, with a beautiful environment. It is known as an “ecological oxygen bar.” It is suitable for summer vacation and relaxation, and for viewing snow and soaking in hot springs in winter.
5、Caoyutan
Caoyutan Tourist Area is located on the upper reaches of the Qingyi River in Hongya County, which is known for its beautiful mountains and rivers. It is adjacent to Hongya Liujia Ancient Town and Ya’an Bifengxia Scenic Area. The scenic area covers a planned area of 18 square kilometers, with a core area of 6 square kilometers and a freshwater area of 3.7 square kilometers. It is known as the “Little Three Gorges.” The Thousand Pagoda Buddha Kingdom lies along the river, with its natural and cultural landscapes complementing each other, making it rich in tourism resources.
