If you are familiar with the South China Sea, you will know about Sansha. Many news events are related to this area. If you want to go to the island, you will likely need to undergo a political review. A bit nervous, right? Learn how to get to Yongxing Island. Let’s take a look.
Introduction to the Sansha 1
Currently, the “Sansha 1” alternates with the “Qiong Sha 3” which opened earlier to effectively solve the problem of the islanders’ “desire to cross but no boat.” Passengers entering and leaving Yongxing Island need to apply to the relevant departments.
Currently, Sansha tourism is not open to the public, and due to the special military background of Yongxing Island, if you want to go to Sansha, you need to go through strict approval.
The “Sansha 1” departs from Qinglan Port, Wenchang, Hainan at 6 pm and sails for about 13 hours to reach Yongxing Island, which means it will arrive around 7 am the next day. The “Qiong Sha 3” departs from Qinglan Port, Wenchang, Hainan at 5 pm and sails for about 15 hours to reach Yongxing Island, which means it will arrive around 9 am the next day. It then sets sail back at 5 pm and arrives at Qinglan Port, Wenchang at around 7 am the next day.
Significance and Value
Sansha City governs an area of 2 million square kilometers, accounting for about two-thirds of the country’s total ocean area. It is not only located in the “Maritime Silk Road” but also shoulders the special mission of “safeguarding rights, maintaining stability, protecting, and developing.”
Currently, Sansha City is actively promoting a number of major construction projects. After these projects are completed, they will provide comprehensive transportation and logistical support services for safeguarding rights in the South China Sea, maritime search and rescue, and provide necessary logistical support for accelerating island reef construction, fishery development, tourism, and oil and gas resource development.
Although the “Sansha 1” is a transportation and supply vessel, its launch shows that from the Qiong Sha to the Sansha, from over two thousand tons to a ten thousand ton giant ship, from supplying Xisha to covering the South China Sea, the consistent thread is the Party and the country’s high regard for the South China Sea and its strong support for the development of Sansha. The “Sansha Dream” of “Sovereign Sansha, Beautiful Sansha, Happy Sansha” is becoming a reality.
