Is Qingyan Ancient Town Fun in Winter? Qingyan Ancient Town Winter Travel Guide

You may have seen it on the news, but this year for the New Year’s holiday, a lot of people will be going out to travel. Besides the famous tourist attractions, I think going to some less-known attractions is a good experience as well. So, today, I will tell you about the less-known attraction Qingyan Ancient Town.

1、Location

Qingyan Ancient Town, one of the four famous towns in Guizhou, is located in Huaxi District, 29 kilometers away from Guiyang downtown.

2、Transportation Guide

(Take Guiyang Railway Station as the center)

Bus (all buses start and end at Guiyang Railway Station)

Route 203: Remember to choose this route!! It starts every 10 minutes at Guiyang Railway Station, and ends at Qingyan Ancient Town. It just takes a little longer, as it has 39 stops. If you encounter traffic jams, it will take more than two hours. But we only took one hour to come back in the evening.

The first bus is at 6:30 am, and the last bus is at 9:00 pm. It is perfect for those who want to see the night view but don’t want to stay overnight in the town. The ticket price is 2 yuan, which is quite affordable.

K203: There are extra services on weekends. Although it only stops at seven stops along the way, it also takes an hour and a half. The first bus is at 9:00 am, and the last bus is at 7:00 pm. The ticket price is 5 yuan.

Tourism Line 1: It is considered a special line for Qingyan Ancient Town. However, there is only one service at 10 am every day. Although it only stops at four stops along the way, it takes half an hour according to the map. The ticket price is 10 yuan, which is not very cost-effective.

Taxi: It is not recommended because it will take about an hour, and traffic jams are very likely to occur due to recent road construction. The price is not cheap, about 100 yuan.

3、Must-Visit Spots

There is no specific recommendation. The town is not very big, and you can walk around it in an hour. If you take pictures and eat some food, it will take two hours. If you want to spend more time, the night view is also very beautiful.

Nan Ancient Wall

This is worth visiting. Even though I didn’t climb the Great Wall in Beijing, I climbed this “fake” wall here. The steps are a bit steep, but the scenery at the top is worth it. You can see the whole Dingguang Lake.

Zhuangyuan Street

Take a look at the mansions of each family. There is one house with walls covered with green vines, which is perfect for taking some fresh photos!

4、Food Recommendations

Besides the common Changwang Fenmian, Suantang Fenmian, Sufennmian, etc. that are sold everywhere in the street, there are also many chili sauces and pork trotters, which should be a highlight of this place. Almost every restaurant has them, and they usually cost 25 yuan per kilogram.

We chose a popular shop called Jinbixuan for lunch. Besides pork trotters, we also ordered a few stir-fries, potato pancakes, and ice powder. The flavors were all average, not very impressive. The average cost is about 50 yuan per person.

The entrance fee is half price this year, only 5 yuan. It is quite cost-effective to visit the town for a walk. Although some people online said they regretted coming here, you might regret not coming as well.

5、Other Routes

It would be awkward to spend a whole day just visiting this town, it’s too much time. You can actually visit other attractions as well.
