There is a saying that goes “A golden den and a silver den are not as good as your own dog den”. Of course, this mainly describes how no matter how far a person travels, they will always miss their hometown and their little home. Traveling sometimes is just a change of living condition, because we know that one day we will return, to face the little things in life.
Early Monday morning, I set off. After a whole day of bumpy rides, I took four different modes of transportation, both in the air and on the ground, and finally returned to my home in Lugu, Bai Sha Qi Fang Town, Hainan, which I had left for a month, from a small town called Shuangxi in Fujian.
A month is neither short nor long, just right for missing and wanting to return, just right for the need for a change of time and space.
As soon as the car entered the gate of the Lugu community, I couldn’t wait to jump out of the car, eager to see the familiar sight of Lugu, smell the fragrant air of Lugu, and listen to the chirping of the birds in Lugu…
Opening the door and walking into my home, which I had left for a month, everything was as it was. I went straight to my beloved balcony, and Yuanbao Mountain and Wo Shen Peak came into view instantly. The beautiful Lugu was within sight.
It was just sunset. The setting sun had just fallen on the mountains and the lake. The distant mountains were hazy, with white mist swirling, the setting sun was like blood, and the lake was like a mirror. It was a beautiful sight like a poem and a painting. But in front of me, the white clouds were rolling, like the tide and the waves, surging towards me, as if to surround me and embrace me. At that moment, I was instantly melted by Lugu…
I don’t know why ancient people always had so much sadness and homesickness when they thought of their hometown or when they were separated, like “People say the setting sun is the end of the world, looking to the end of the world, I can’t see home. I already hate the green mountains for blocking me, but the green mountains are still covered by the evening clouds”, “The setting sun goes down in the west, the heartbroken person is at the end of the world”, “Swallows return home but people are gone, now I can’t help but be in the twilight”. But my feeling of returning to Lugu after a long absence is joy, warmth, and cherishment.
It’s been exactly one year since I came to Lugu to settle down, and this is the first time I’ve been away from my home in Lugu for the longest time.
I studied oil painting in Shuangxi, Fujian, for 30 days, and the process made me happy and joyful. Every day was full of harvest and miracles. But the busy and fulfilling days could not block and reduce the longing for Lugu in my heart.
The mountains in Shuangxi are very high, steep and beautiful, the bamboo is green and wild flowers are all over the slopes, but I still can’t help but paint Lugu’s mountains on the canvas, the Yuanbao Mountain that I look at countless times every day.
The mornings in Shuangxi are very beautiful, with morning mist filling the mountains, and the birds singing sweetly, but I often miss the warm and bright sunlight that penetrates the heart in the morning in Lugu.
The small river in Shuangxi is very picturesque, winding and flowing, with stone piers and bridges, which have a strong Min Dong style, but I miss the beautiful Lugu even more, which is shaped like a Buddha’s hand and is clear as a mirror.
Shuangxi ancient town is very charming, with ancient temples and ancestral halls with a hundred years of history, unique buildings, ancient houses, alleys, and stone roads, all make people fascinated and linger. But in my heart, I still yearn to walk on the fragrant paths of Lugu community, where the trees are green and the flowers are in full bloom.
The Shuangxi Art City’s 2,000 square meter studio is very grand and lively, and the painters from all over the world are very enthusiastic and friendly, but I seem to prefer the clean, quiet, comfortable and relaxing human environment of Lugu.
It is said that there would be no longing without separation. Longing is like a poem, allowing you to read the rhythm in every day of your life; longing is like a drizzle, moistening your hot and dry heart in time, making you gentle and delicate; longing is like a ray of sunlight, penetrating the heart, illuminating all your days. Lugu is like such a poem, a drizzle, a ray of light…
It can be said that there would be no hope for returning without traveling far. Only when I returned to Lugu could I be considered to have ended this period of returning. And only when I returned to Lugu did I realize how beautiful Lugu is, and how good Lugu’s home is…
So this time I want to introduce you to my home, Lugu, a different place. In addition to the inner peace, every day, after sunrise and sunset, I still have a deep love for this mountain.
Travel Guide
【About accommodation】
This is a resort style, you can stay in the hotel is the best, the environment you can see is still good, there are also some small hostels around, but the view is not so wide
【About food】
This is also surrounded by mountains, so there are still a lot of wild animals and plants in this place. For you who come from the city, it is also a great delicacy
【About playing】
There are two types of activities here, one is boating on the lake, and the other is mountain climbing. I personally prefer mountain climbing when the weather is good, both exercising and breathing fresh air
