Qingdao is now the best time to go hiking. The temperature is comfortable, the scenery is beautiful, and friends can go hiking during this good time. It is recommended that you can go hiking to Mount Laoshan, Baiguoshan, Xinhaoshan, Fushan and other scenic spots.
1、Mount Laoshan
Mount Laoshan is located in the east of Qingdao City, the main mountain range of the Shandong Peninsula. The main peak of Mount Laoshan is called “Jufeng”, also known as “Lao Ding”, with an altitude of 1132.7 meters, the highest peak on the coastline of China, known as the “first mountain in the sea”. It stands on the shore of the Yellow Sea, tall and majestic. There is an old saying in the local area: “Although Mount Tai is high, it is not as good as Mount Laoshan in the East China Sea”.
Traffic: Take bus No. 104 or 304 to Dahe Dong Customer Service Center Station.
2、Baiguoshan
Baiguoshan Forest Park is located in the eastern part of Licang District, Qingdao City, in the Bijia Shangliu Community. It was the site of the 2014 Qingdao World Horticultural Exposition.
The natural scenery of Baiguoshan is unique and beautiful. Standing on the viewing platform, the Sea View Tower and other high places, you can see the mountains and hills, the green barriers are stacked and green, and the birds are flying and the mountain flowers are blooming in the forest. It makes people feel relaxed and happy, reluctant to leave. Looking south, the panoramic view of the World Expo is just in front of you: “two axes, twelve gardens, seven experience zones”. Looking north, the mountains are connected, the Buddhist temples are hidden among the high mountains and valleys, and the rural towns are embroidered among the green mountains and valleys.

3、Xinhaoshan
Xinhaoshan is the best place to climb and overlook the scenery of Qingdao City. Xinhaoshan is located southeast of Guanyingshan and southwest of Qingdaoshan, with an altitude of 98 meters and an area of 6.3 hectares. Xinhaoshan is one of the highest mountains in the urban area. The three red mushroom buildings on the mountain are like three burning torches. There are 14 sightseeing routes, scenic spots such as Hexagonal Pavilion, Yulan Pavilion, Rotating Hall, Outdoor Tea House, Arch Bridge, Corridor, etc., forming a beautiful and tranquil garden landscape. The famous scholar Yu Pingbo once wrote a poem for Xinhaoshan: “Ancient people invited me to make a trip to the east, but it was a pity that the time was in early autumn. Three sides were lush and surrounded by the blue sea, and one mountain was high and low, all red buildings”.
Traffic: Take bus No. 220 or 221 to Qingyi Affiliated Hospital Station, and take bus No. 1 to Guanying Road Station to reach there.
Qingdaoshan and Taiping Mountain face each other, and you can overlook the Zhongshan Park and Zoo between the two mountains; looking south, you can see the Huiquan Taipingjiao area, with red tiles, green trees, blue sea and blue sky blending together; looking north, you can see the Shibei District, with buildings standing side by side. During the German occupation of Qingdao, a large-scale defensive facility was built on the mountain. The fortresses have long been abandoned. After being repaired, they have become a fortress site exhibition area, and a fortress exhibition hall has been established at the foot of the mountain. It is the only battlefield site in Asia in World War I, and it is a base for patriotic education.
Traffic Tips: Take bus No. 220, 15, 320, or 219 to the Zoo Station.
4、Fushan
Fushan, Qingdao, is located in the urban area of Qingdao, with a main peak altitude of 384 meters. The total area is 7 square kilometers, 5 kilometers long from east to west, and 2 kilometers wide from north to south, spanning three districts: Shinan, Shibei and Laoshan. The nine peaks of Fushan are arranged, steep and beautiful, known as the “Nine Points of Fushan”.
Traffic Tips: Take bus No. 11, 104, 125, 226, 227 or 316 to Qingdao University Station.
5、Taiping Mountain
Taiping Mountain Scenic Area, built relying on Taiping Mountain, is one of the places to climb high and view the scenery in Qingdao. The Germans once built the “Ilkisch” fort here. The mountain is rugged, with lush forests. Climbing the mountain to look out, you can see the blue sea surrounding the southeast two sides; looking far away, you can see Yan’er Island, Da Gong Island and Xia Gong Island; looking closely, you can see the First Sports Stadium and Huiquan Square. In 1992, a 230-meter-high steel structure TV tower was built on the top of the mountain, known as the first in China and the third in the world. It has two functions: broadcasting and television signal transmission and sightseeing. The hall at the bottom later became the Shen Ao Ying Ao Hall. Taiping Mountain is a high-altitude viewing spot. There are “Wanghai Pavilion”, “Tingtao Pavilion”, “Wanjing Pavilion” and “Banshan Pavilion”. The Taiping Mountain Sightseeing Cableway connects Zhongshan Park, TV Sightseeing Tower and Botanical Garden, making it convenient for tourists to visit and sightsee.
