For a spring trip in Qingdao’s Shi Nan district, you can visit Qingdao Botanical Garden, Wu Si Square, Zhan Qiao Pier, Xiao Yu Shan, Signal Hill, and the newly popular Lie Jie (Broken Street). Let’s take a look at what these places offer. Details can be found below.
1. Qingdao Botanical Garden
Qingdao Botanical Garden was founded in 1976, covering an area of 81.38 hectares. It is located at 36.05° N, 120.08° E, at the southern foot of Tai Ping Shan Scenic Area in Shi Nan District, with an altitude ranging from 30 meters to 148.5 meters. It borders the Martyrs’ Memorial Hall and Zhan Shan Temple to the east, the sanatorium to the south, Zhong Shan Park and Kui Lin Park to the west and north. The garden features dry hills and low-lying swamps, with undulating terrain and complex landforms, providing a diverse environment that meets the ecological requirements of plants. There are small natural forests growing well within the garden. The mountain scenery, seascapes, temples and other buildings outside the garden can be borrowed as scenery. The natural landscape is rich; the climate is warm in winter and cool in summer, and the slightly acidic soil is suitable for the growth of some subtropical plants and alpine plants. The botanical garden is located in the city and can be integrated with other scenic spots for easy sightseeing.
