I still remember when I was a kid, I wanted to grow up quickly, but when I really grew up, I wanted to go back to childhood. Only then did I realize that carefree youth is the best time. To give my youth a special farewell, I decided to walk through the streets of Macau again.

Before each trip, I plan to write a travel guide afterwards. But in the end, I found out that with our casual style, we don’t even know the names of the streets and alleys we’ve been to, how can we make a well-organized free travel guide. So this time it’s more like a random thought, but I will share my travel experience at the end of this article. Many people are unfamiliar with Macau. Compared to Hong Kong, the most impressive thing about Macau is its casinos. Macau is one of the four major gambling cities in the world, but there are also many scenic spots worth visiting, you don’t have to go to the casino.

Wandering through the streets and alleys of Macau

Before I went, I downloaded an offline map on Amap and also downloaded offline navigation. After I arrived, I found out that navigation couldn’t be used, so I could only wander around looking at the map and marked destinations.

Although this is not my first time here, everything feels fresh to me. Old houses, Western architecture, colorful tiles, graffiti-covered walls, shops with salted fish hanging in front of them. Tradition and trend collide, but they don’t seem out of place. Every street, every wall is a unique scenery.

This time I also went to the must-visit A-Ma Temple in Macau. But I took a photo and left. I think that when you travel, you should wander around the local streets and alleys and go to the market. Places like scenic spots, you just have to go and have a look.

I asked for directions and found the nearby Lovers’ Lane. It’s said that if you go there, you’ll find a boyfriend? Okay, actually I went there because I wanted to take pictures.

I didn’t realize until I got there that it was just a short alley. The walls are a lovely pink, and besides the love declarations written by tourists, I don’t feel anything about it being related to love and finding a boyfriend.

It’s just a simple street photo holy land for girls. One wall is pink, the other is yellow, and there are some graffiti next to it. When we found it, we also saw many girls who obviously went there to pose for photos.

I flipped through my photo album for a long time and realized that I was too busy asking my friend to take photos of me, and I forgot to take pictures of the streets, which is really embarrassing. I can only shamelessly post two photos of myself.

The purpose of this trip was to check in at delicious food stalls, so I didn’t visit many places. Basically, I just wandered around the Senado Square, A-Ma Temple, and Rua do Cunha.

I felt that the people here, whether shopkeepers or passersby, were indifferent. It’s really not comparable to Taiwan.

Find a tea restaurant and go in to relax and have a cup of milk tea

I searched online for many recommended foods and marked them all. We tried many snacks, two of us, with the mentality of eating less but more places. But we actually didn’t eat full at all. We ordered several different dishes from each place and shared them.

Shop Name: Shun Yi Milk

Double-boiled Milk Pudding, Steamed Egg with Ice Flower

Price: 32, 27

We didn’t plan to go to this shop, but we stumbled upon it when we were walking by. As a person from Guangzhou, it’s a bit ridiculous to pay over 30 yuan for a double-boiled milk pudding in Macau.

I ordered the double-boiled milk pudding, and of course the taste can’t be compared to Nanxin Milk. However, the milk pudding here has a strong milky taste but is not greasy at all. It has a refreshing sweetness and is perfect for summer. The delicious double-boiled milk pudding in Guangzhou is too greasy. I could eat two more bowls of this one.

As for the steamed egg, I really don’t recommend ordering it. The taste is exactly the same as the one I made when I was a child. A sweet and greasy taste with a hint of fishy smell, like steamed egg in sweet water.

Tim Fat Kee Congee

Congee, Deluxe Congee

Price: 30, 45

We ordered two bowls of congee. Although one bowl has the word “Deluxe”, compared to the rich people at the next table who spent over a thousand yuan, it’s just a civilian version.

The shopkeeper said that the “Deluxe” one is different from the ordinary one in the size of the shark fin. I always thought congee was just a cooked noodle soup. I was amazed to see that it actually has whole pieces of shark fin. The ingredients are quite plentiful and well cooked.

Durian Ice Cream, Mao Shan Wang Durian Ice Cream

Price: 45, 68

The durian flavor of the ordinary version is already very strong, the Mao Shan Wang durian one is even more fragrant and rich. Before I went, kk strongly recommended that I must try it, saying that there is durian flesh in it.

Actually, the ice cream is not very smooth, but every bite has durian flesh, it’s full of condensed durian flavor, completely different from those durian flavor ice creams with artificial essence. I felt like I was about to float away after taking the first bite.

But after eating one, it’s a bit too rich, although it’s a small box, it’s already enough.

Shop Name: Royal Coconut

Coconut Ice Cream

Price: 30 (I think)

I was disappointed after taking the first bite. It’s actually coconut milk ice with coconut flesh added, it can’t really be called ice cream. It doesn’t even have the primary characteristic of ice cream, smoothness. It actually tastes a bit like the red bean ice cubes I made as a child.

But the coconut flavor is very strong, and there is a lot of coconut flesh. You can chew and chew. When the owner asked if we liked it, I could only stammer and tell a lie.

Signature Almond Cake, Tian Mei Snow, Fresh Cream Cheese Cake

After I went in, I wondered why so many people recommended it online, it just looks like a normal coffee dessert shop.

The first time I ordered the signature almond cake and Tian Mei Snow, which sounds so beautiful and Mary Sue, I don’t know what it is.

The almond cake is icy cold, and the first bite I thought it was white ice cream, but later I realized that it doesn’t melt, it’s actually hardened cream. It’s quite delicious, but not as delicious as I imagined, it’s just ordinary, and the price is expensive.

The coffee Tian Mei Snow, I later learned that it’s actually the non-mainstream translation of tiramisu. The first bite, the bitter coffee flavor hit my soul, I even screamed. The middle part is soft and firm, and the smooth and fragrant cream perfectly neutralizes the bitterness of the coffee. I didn’t realize until the end that there was a thin layer of cake soaked in coffee at the bottom, which made me a bit disgusted. Because I don’t like trying different kinds of buns, so this detracts points.

Later I also ordered a fresh cream cheese cake. The taste is amazing, it’s indescribable! The salty and fragrant cheese flavor filled my mouth with just the first bite. The stuff on top, the texture is close to ice cream, it looks like cream, but it’s actually a bit hard, but it melts in your mouth. When I was eating this, I forgot how many times I praised it.

You can tell from this shop that the cream cheese and other ingredients used to make the cakes are definitely not inferior. Because inferior cream leaves a lingering taste in your mouth and doesn’t melt easily, and it has a strange taste.

Milk Ice Cream with Matcha Cake

Price: Around 50 (forgot)

This shop is in a secluded alley on Rua do Cunha. I couldn’t find it at first. This shop seems to mainly sell cakes, and the ice cream only has a milk flavor. Hokkaido milk ice cream, with a small piece of matcha cake inside. This is the first time I ate ice cream with cake.

It seems that it doesn’t have additives, and less cream is added, so the ice cream melts quickly. The ice cream is very delicate and the milk flavor is quite strong. The cake actually doesn’t have much cake texture, and it melts immediately when you put it in your mouth with the ice cream. It’s delicious, but it’s not impressive.

If I could, I would also like to stay in Macau for a night, go to the beach and have a look, walk around the alleys at night, and look at the night view of all of Macau.
