For those who know Hong Kong, they always say it is a shopping paradise. The imported and exported goods here are much cheaper than those in mainland China, due to the tax reason. However, for those who come to Hong Kong, besides shopping, you can also take a look at the different scenery here, which is quite eye-catching. This time I want to take you to Lamma Island.
Lamma Island
You are used to seeing towering buildings and bustling Hong Kong. Maybe the quiet and charming Lamma Island that was once advertised in Hong Kong movies will make people fall in love with another side of Hong Kong.
Because Lamma Island is mostly mountainous, it is suitable to wear comfortable shoes to stroll around the quiet mountain trails. There, you may encounter a lone foreign friend walking briskly forward, or see an old man with missing teeth chewing sweets in front of a small shop at a certain street corner, or a leisurely big dog suddenly passing by your feet and stopping in front of you.
Central Pier can go to many attractions, and the overpass leading to the pier will see the Ferris wheel on the side.
Reaching the north and south piers of Lamma Island: Sok Kwu Wan and Yung Shue Wan
The ferry has two floors, both floors have comfortable soft seats, and the stern of the second floor has open-air seats. It takes about 30 minutes to reach the island.
After getting off the ship, looking up at the island, the small flat houses scattered on the mountainside and the small boats floating on the sea make people feel like they want to go closer to this outlying island.

Shops under the flat houses
That day, we crossed the border around 9:00 am from Lo Wu Station, took the subway, and arrived at Central Pier after about an hour and a half. We just missed the 10:30 ferry, so we had to wait for the 11:20 boat. We walked around Yung Shue Wan Street and it was time to eat.
If you don’t want to spend too much money on seafood on the island, you can choose the “Sampan Seafood Restaurant” (recommended: three stars) below to eat a few dishes of Hong Kong-style tea snacks; if you want to enjoy a little bit of a lifestyle, you can order seafood here. , recommend this family’s tomato beef, sweet and sour, the beef is very tender.

Three dishes plus two bowls of rice and service charge totaled 387 HKD
Only after eating and drinking can you have the energy to walk the mountain road for about two hours. The forks in the road on Lamma Island basically have signposts
Turn the corner and meet the “love” mountain
Guiding you to the attractions you want to go to. Because this time I wanted to take the route to Hung Shing Yeh Beach, I didn’t go up the mountain to savor the farmhouses on the mountain.
The road leading to Hung Shing Yeh Beach is surrounded by green vegetation, wild flowers of nature, small streams, and often a couple of large spiders weave their “dreams” on the old trees.

Sok Kwu Wan
Recommend this family’s salt and pepper fish balls (the store has a photo with Lang Lang).
No one is an island, nor is there a truly lonely island, because of the gifts of nature, foreigners have developed power plants here and discovered this resort paradise. Of course, there are also the persistence of the older generation of fishermen, which makes this island full of vitality.
The pier in black and white photos always reminds people of parting
However, if you ask me if I am willing to live on this island for the rest of my life, I think I wouldn’t. Maybe I can’t stand the loneliness of being surrounded by the sea and valleys, the desolation of the sparsely populated island, and the “slow pace” of receiving communication information!
Finally, every journey has to end. May the residents of the island be able to cherish this gift from nature and live freely and happily.
