Yichang Three Gorges Scenic Area Travel Guide

What are the attractions

1. Waterside Homes

The Waterside Homes are located at the confluence of Longjin Creek and the Yangtze River. Several ancient sailing boats stand proudly against the wind, small fishing boats cast their nets, and Chuxia Pavilion is exquisite and unique. On the side close to the creek, a dam has been built, blocking the quiet waters of Longjin Creek, raising the water level by 1-2 meters. The creek water is emerald green, the trees are lush, the mottled and weathered Longxi Bridge spans the creek, and several small fishing boats are quietly moored under the bridge. “The spring waves are green under Longxi Bridge, and the startled birds come and go in the shadow.” It’s like a dream, enchanting and intoxicating.

2. Creekside Homes

The Creekside Homes are nestled against the mountains and water, half on land and half in the water. Surrounded by mountains, accompanied by green mountains and waters, slanting sun and grass trees, mist and rain, it is picturesque.

Garlic, corn, red peppers, raincoats, and straw hats are hung on the stilt houses. Smoke curls from the roof, ducks and geese frolic in the creek in front of the house, and the puppy barks “Woof woof” under the stilt house, as if saying “Welcome, welcome.” On the big rocks in front of the stilt house, several mountain girls are washing clothes, singing passionate and lingering love songs. The pounding of the pestle on the stone slabs makes a crisp and pleasant sound, as if playing a passionate love song.

3. Mountain Homes

The “stilt houses” of the Mountain Homes are called “ganlan-style architecture” by modern architects. The terrain in the gorge area is steep, and the houses are mostly built along the mountainside. They are made of wood and are surrounded by bamboo forests and banana trees.

4. Shipai Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall

The Shipai Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall is the first comprehensive Anti-Japanese War memorial hall in the Three Gorges area. It is built on the site of the military battle during the Anti-Japanese War. The hall covers an area of 440 square meters and consists of four parts: the Hall of Mourning and Remembrance, the Multimedia Exhibition Hall, the Text and Picture Exhibition Hall, and the Real Object Exhibition Hall. It houses over 200 precious artifacts and nearly 100 precious photos. In March 2003, the Yichang Municipal People’s Government designated the Shipai Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall as one of the first national defense education bases.

1. Self-driving

Self-driving tourists from Wuhan can take the Yemingzhu Expressway exit, drive along the San Yudong route to the Yiling-Lian (tuo) Highway, and reach the Three Gorges Scenic Area (there are obvious traffic signs along the way).

2. Bus

Take bus No. 4 in Yichang urban area to “Three Gorges Tea City or 22 Company Station”, there is a special bus line from Yiling Bus Station to the Three Gorges Scenic Area, running every 1 hour from 7:00 to 17:00. The 10-1 bus tour line from Yichang to the Three Gorges Scenic Area will officially resume operation on May 29th, with a full ticket price of 6 yuan. The starting point of this line is located at Yiling Square, and the end point is at the Three Gorges Scenic Area. The first departure time is 6:20, the last departure time is 18:00, the average interval between buses is about 45 minutes, the full ticket price is 6 yuan (air-conditioned bus is 10 yuan), and it adopts segmented fare calculation.
