Changbai Mountain Tianchi has many stories and legends passed down from generation to generation. There are also legends of a water monster, which has led to Tianchi’s very high profile, making it a popular destination for tourists both at home and abroad. It is also considered the holy mountain of North Korea, so it receives a lot of attention. Here is a 800-word essay on my trip to Changbai Mountain Tianchi.

Tianchi is a mirror left behind by a fairy, so beautiful it takes your breath away. The water is vast, calm, blue like a gemstone, and beautiful beyond compare. I kept staring at it, deeply captivated by its beauty.

The weather was perfect, the sun was shining brightly, and Tianchi naturally unveiled her usual mysterious veil, revealing herself to us completely, allowing us to fully embrace her magnificence and serenity. These two qualities are usually difficult to reconcile, but Tianchi manages to perfectly combine them, making me marvel at nature’s handiwork!

Infinite beauty lies in steep peaks. The world’s wondrous oddities and strangeness often lie in danger and distance. These words ring true. The winding mountain road leading to Tianchi and the thrill of driving on the mountain road will be unforgettable for me!

Looking down from the edge of Tianchi, the vertically distributed vegetation also created breathtaking beauty. Tundra, mountain birch forest, coniferous forest, mixed coniferous and broad-leaved forest, each layer is distinct, allowing you to experience four different climatic zones at once, leaving you speechless with wonder. 

Tianchi Under a Clear Sky

Changbai Waterfall, with a drop of over 68 meters, plunges straight down, with mist rising and refracting a rainbow in the sunlight.

Beneath the waterfall are white ice and snow, giving the waterfall an added sense of holiness and uniqueness. Against the backdrop of volcanic rock from hundreds of years ago, it shines particularly brightly. 

Jiulongquan is a spring of underground hot springs, with a very high temperature, emitting heat and bubbles. The surrounding area is rich in minerals due to volcanic eruptions, leaving behind various rich colors.

Not far away there is a 43°C hot spring that visitors can experience, giving you a chance to feel the temperature from below the earth’s surface. 

Xiao Tianchi, clear and beautiful. Surrounded by mountain birch forests reflected in the water, it looks like an oil painting. If Tianchi belongs to the gods, then Xiao Tianchi is for mortals, tangible and accessible, instantly bringing you peace and tranquility.

Its character is different from Tianchi’s. Tianchi’s water only flows out, never in, while Xiao Tianchi’s water only flows in, never out. They complement each other, which is very interesting. 

Lu Yuan Tan, as its name suggests, is a green and deep pool of water. There is actually a waterfall above the pool, but it is not as high as Changbai Waterfall. The waterfall is dynamic, the pool is static, the two complement each other perfectly. 

Birch trees grow in the pool, and I was amazed by their tenacious vitality. They grow in the soil, in the water, in the cracks of the rocks, wherever they can find a foothold. In addition, there are mountain rhododendrons. When everything else withers, they remain a deep green, adding color to the entire mountain. 

Underground Forest. Due to the fire season in the forest, the Underground Forest scenic area was closed, which was a bit of a disappointment. But it’s also a good thing. Nothing is perfect. This was my first time seeing Tianchi, and she was so generous, I was already satisfied.

The scenery along the way has already allowed us to experience the most natural, original, and natural appearance of a nature reserve. Plants grow or die as they please, left to the arrangement of heaven and earth. This absolute non-interference reflects man’s respect and awe for nature.
