Huangyao Ancient Town in Guangxi originated in the Kai Bao period of the Song Dynasty. The buildings and streets in the town are laid out in a nine-palace Bagua formation. The residences are in the Lingnan architectural style, and the streets are mostly paved with bluestone slabs. Coupled with the many nearby mountains, caves, and clear streams, it presents a typical karst landform, forming a natural landscape garden ancient town where humanistic attractions and mountain scenery are integrated. It is praised by the world as the “dream home.” Huangyao Ancient Town was jointly promoted by the Asia Pacific Tourism Cooperation Organization, the World Overseas Chinese Tourism Cooperation Organization, and the China-Foreign Tourism Brand Promotion Summit Organizing Committee as “China’s Most Tourism-Worthy Ancient Town” at the Award Ceremony of the 2005 China-Foreign Tourism Brand Promotion Summit. It was also selected as one of the 50 places in China that are most worth visiting by foreigners. The TVB dramas “Tea Is Hometown Thick” and “Wine Is Hometown Rich” were also specially filmed in Huangyao.

Surrounding Huangyao Ancient Town are towering peaks, deep caves, winding streams, and ancient trees. The natural landscapes include eight major scenic spots and 24 minor scenic spots. Most of the houses in the town retain the Ming and Qing styles. The eight streets in the town are all paved with bluestone slabs. The ancient cultural relics include more than 20 temples, temples, and ancestral halls, and more than 10 pavilions, towers, and other Ming and Qing buildings, including the Wenming Pavilion, Baozhu Temple, Xingyu Temple, Lion Temple, Ancient Stage, Wu Family Ancestral Hall, Guo Family Ancestral Hall, Zulong Pavilion, Jianlong Temple, Jianlong Temple, Daolong Bridge, Hulong Bridge, Natural Pavilion, etc. There are also the calligraphy and painting of Han Yu, Liu Zongbiao, the Guangxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China Memorial Hall, the statue of Qian Xing, the residences of cultural celebrities such as He Xiangning, Gao Shiqi, and Qian Jiaju, as well as many poems, couplets, and inscriptions.
