When I saw the photos of Qinghai Lake, I was very eager to see it. Because I work from 9 to 5 every day, I wanted to see more beautiful scenery, I wanted to watch the sunrise and sunset. I wanted to go for a walk and see the world. I didn’t want to miss the scenery like Jiuzhaigou.
I have too much to say about Qinghai Lake. Because I’ve been here a few years ago, I still have all sorts of comparisons in my heart. I just wanted to write down some of my thoughts, and it’s also a record. We went to the Erlangjian Scenic Area. The budget travel could only do this. It was also a chance to take my mom to see Qinghai Lake.
We went to Qinghai Lake on July 26th. It was a free trip. We went to the Bayi Road Passenger Transport Station in Xining City early in the morning. We took a bus, the ticket price was 37 yuan, and the journey was about 3 hours. After arriving, we immediately bought the ticket for our return trip in the afternoon. If you want to return to Xining on the same day, it is best to buy the return ticket as soon as you get off the bus. Because of the peak season, if you wait until you leave to buy a ticket, you may not be able to buy the ticket for the same day. Don’t worry about not having enough time to play. Actually, we really went in around 12 noon, and we also bought a ticket to return to Xining at 3:30 pm. The actual time we spent playing was about 3 hours, which was enough. The weather wasn’t very good either. It was cloudy, and it rained later. The full ticket price for the entrance fee is 100 yuan per ticket, and it also cost us 20 yuan per ticket for a sightseeing bus. If you choose to take the sightseeing bus, 2 hours of playing is enough. Actually, I don’t feel it’s necessary to take the sightseeing bus. The place is small, and I was worried that my mom wouldn’t be able to walk. You can also choose to ride bicycles in the scenic area when you go in. I think riding bicycles should be more interesting. If you are not short of money, you can try it. It’s not too expensive.
The sightseeing bus will pass by a small building on the side of the road. I remember it was called the Tibetan Tribe. The sightseeing bus did not stop. I took photos there before, so I remember it clearly. The car has already passed, and I was too lazy to walk back. I didn’t go back to that area. After getting off the sightseeing bus and playing, you can continue to take the bus at the place where you got off. Make sure you have finished playing and won’t play anymore before you get on the bus. Because their next destination will directly take you to the exit of the scenic area, and there will be nowhere else to go. We were very embarrassed after we got on the bus. We had to walk back by ourselves to continue playing.
The rest is just the lake. The commercial atmosphere is too strong. I remember the guardrails on both sides were all stone piers, but now they have all become iron railings, which completely affects the aesthetics. There are also many more steles, which didn’t exist before. Maybe it’s for tourists to take photos. There are almost people everywhere around the steles. When I saw the first stele, there were many people. Don’t rush and don’t worry. Walk forward, and there will be a second stele, a third stele, which is very in line with modern people’s need for taking photos. There were no large cruise ships carrying tourists to the lake before. Now there are, and the ticket price is around 100 yuan. We didn’t go. The other side of the lake is developed like a beach, with various water sports projects. Well, it really affects the beauty of the lake. But, the lake water is still the same lake water, and the color hasn’t changed much. It’s kind of green. It’s still beautiful when you look at it quietly. If you want to take photos without taking pictures of those commercial facilities, you can walk further away. Well, I can’t tell the directions, and I don’t know which direction it is. Just walk along the lake towards the other end. There is only the pure lake there, no fences. It’s very beautiful. Just be careful, the water is still relatively high when the weather is bad. I took many beautiful photos of my mom.
I remember seeing a lot of people saying in the strategy before that the Erlangjian Scenic Area is not fun, and the scenery is not good. They all recommended going to places where Tibetans live nearby. It doesn’t cost that much for tickets. I think maybe they are right. But we are budget travelers, and we don’t know where to start. If you are driving, you can give it a try. There are many self-driving tourists on the roadside just before reaching Qinghai Lake. They all park on the roadside to take pictures. There are all kinds of rapeseed flowers, many dandelions, and many little sheep. Haha. It’s really beautiful. It’s another kind of beauty. It feels very comfortable. I told my mom that if we go to Inner Mongolia, we must drive there. We can drive wherever we want to go and stop wherever we want. Hehe.
For meals, there doesn’t seem to be any in the scenic area. Outside the scenic area, there are small stores where you can get food. Instant noodles are all 5 yuan, and there is also a rice dish for 25 yuan per serving. It’s not expensive. The rest, I will just simply post some photos.
