The Anang hiking route is now maintained by the village collective. Hiking requires a mountain entry fee, so you need to contact the village collective in advance. According to the number of people entering the mountain, contact one day in advance, the village will provide villagers as guides, food, sugar eggs, and arrangements for overnight stays.

Round trip on the same day: 2 people are 360 yuan/person, 4 people or more are 300 yuan/person;

Round trip for two days: 2 people are 600 yuan/person, 4 people or more are 450 yuan/person.

Best Season

Mid-April to the end of May is the rhododendron season, the most beautiful and the weather is good;

August to September is the iris season, this season has a lot of rain;

Sunrise Sea of Clouds

The best viewing spot for sunrise sea of clouds is located around Camp 1. When the sun rises, the golden morning sun breaks through the red clouds, it is shocking and beautiful. In the evening, you can also see the colorful sunset, which has a poetic charm of “the red of the river flowers at sunrise is better than fire”;

Alpine Pasture

The alpine pasture is a vast natural pasture. Not far from Camp 1, on the top of the mountain, when the rainy season comes, the green grass covers the mountains, wild flowers are everywhere, horses and sheep sometimes run across the mountains, sometimes graze leisurely, with a bit of the hermit poetry of Li Bai, the poet, “Let the white deer roam among the green cliffs”;

Camp 1

Camp 1 is the “ultimate camp” and “the most beautiful camp” on the Anangguo hiking route. At an altitude of 3600m, at the top of Anangguo, bonfire barbecue, singing and dancing, is also the best place to enjoy the sunrise sea of clouds, beautiful starry sky and colorful sunset. It is adjacent to the spruce forest and alpine pasture. When the flowers bloom, it is surrounded by rhododendron flowers and green meadows.

Hiking Route

Day 1: Anangguo Village Reception Station (altitude 2600) → Camp 2 (altitude 2900) → Camp 1 (altitude 3600), the reception station to Camp 2 is 3 kilometers and 2 hours, Camp 2 to Camp 1 is 4 kilometers and 4 hours;

Day 2: Camp 1 → cross the spruce forest to the iris valley → primitive forest → Anangguo Village reception station, Camp 1 to the iris valley is 2 kilometers and 1 hour, iris valley to the reception station is 5 kilometers and 2 hours.

Where is Anangguo

Anangguo is located in the Xiyan Group of Taohua Village, Shishitou Bai Nationality Township, Yulong Naxi Autonomous County, Lijiang City, Yunnan Province. Search on the map—Anangguo Reception Station. It is about 1 hour and 30 minutes from Lijiang Ancient City. You can take a taxi from Lijiang. It is about 3 hours from Dali Ancient City. It is recommended to drive from Dali.

Compared to other hiking routes that are “in hell”, Anangguo is very friendly to outdoor beginners. The altitude is low, it is not easy to get altitude sickness, and people over 10 years old can handle it.

Accommodation Guide

You can stay at the reception station, Camp 2 and Camp 1. The reception station is a triple room, Camp 2 is a large dormitory or tent, and Camp 1 is a large dormitory;

If you have high accommodation requirements or are with children and it is not convenient, you can stay at the boutique homestay in Sanguoshui Village.
