It is recommended to purchase your ferry tickets online in advance, as the number of tickets available each day is limited. While there are guesthouses on the island, it’s also essential to book them in advance, especially during peak season.
There is a significant temperature difference between day and night on the island, so bring a jacket. There are also a lot of mosquitoes on the island, so consider bringing insect repellent.
Recommended Itinerary:
Day 1:
Before 6:20 AM, take a shared ride to Di Shui Lake Metro Station and board the Yangshan Line;
Arrive at Shenjiawan Pier at 7:45 AM and take the 8:50 AM ferry from Shenjiawan to Gouqi Island;
Arrive at Gouqi Island at 10:20 AM, check into your guesthouse, and rest for a while;
Have lunch at 12:00 PM and enjoy local cuisine;
Depart at 1:00 PM for Dongya Cliff on Shengshan Island, explore for 1.5 hours;
Visit the Uninhabited Village at 2:30 PM, spend 1 hour there, entrance fee is 60 yuan;
Return to your guesthouse at 3:30 PM and rest for a while.
Day 2:
Depart at 8:00 AM for Shanhai Qiguan, a free attraction;
Return to your guesthouse at 10:00 AM and pack your belongings;
Take the ferry back to Shenjiawan at 11:00 AM.
Food and Accommodation Guide:
Consider staying at local guesthouses, which are reasonably priced. Remember to book in advance, and you can try local specialties like mussels.
