1. Self-driving tour strategy for hiking through Dongchong. If you are driving to Dongchong, it is recommended to drive to Xiyong Beach (there is a parking lot), then take a minibus to Dongyong Community Work Station, 5 yuan/person. Starting from Dongchong, hike along the coastline to Xiyong Beach (the coastal hiking route is described below), and return by car.

Summary: Drive to Xiyong Beach → Take a taxi to Dongchong → Hike to Xiyong → Drive back.

2. Bus travel strategy for hiking through Dongchong. To hike through Dongchong by bus, take the E11 from Shenzhen North Station in Shenzhen, 10 yuan/person, 15 stops, 120 minutes, first bus at 6:00, last bus at 21:30. Get off at Nanya Street Office and transfer to m231 to Dongyong Community Work Station, 4 stops, 23 minutes, first bus at 5:35, last bus at 19:40. Summary: Shenzhen North Station E11 → Nanya Street Office, transfer to m231 → Get off at Dongyong Community Work Station.

The bus travel strategy for hiking through Dongchong can also be taken from Shenzhen North Station Minzhi Mintang Road Terminal to Shuitou Market Station by the Dapeng Holiday Special Line 6, and then transfer to m231 to Dongyong Community Work Station. Dapeng Holiday Special Line 6 departs at 8:00 and ends at 12:00, returns at 13:30 and ends at 20:00, 12 stops, 102 minutes. m231 takes 9 stops from Shuitou Market Station to Dongyong Community Work Station, 33 minutes, first bus at 5:35, last bus at 19:40.

Route Strategy

Hiking through Dongchong can be done from east to west or from west to east. Because most people are used to hiking from east to west, it is recommended to hike from east to west in order to avoid potential risks of narrow mountain paths and rocky roads, and to save time.

After getting off the bus at the starting point of the hike through Dongchong, how do you get there? As shown in the picture below, after getting off the bus, walk along the red line for about 1.5 kilometers to reach the Dongchong coastline. Walk 1.9 kilometers from the 4th beach in Xiyong to Heshu Village Station and take the bus. Take 4 stops and 16 minutes to get off at Nanya Center Station and transfer to E11 to return. Or, you can also take m232 from Heshu Village Station to Shuitou Market and transfer to Dapeng Holiday Special Line 4 to return to the city.

Friendly Tips

1. The E11 line is usually packed during holidays, so it is recommended to get on at the starting station, as there are almost no seats available at other stops. If you cannot get on the bus when you return, you can share a ride back to the city.

2. The road conditions for hiking through Dongchong are complex. Do not jump on rocks, as this can cause ankle sprains. Try to avoid slippery areas near the beach to prevent falls.

3. If you accidentally sprain your ankle and have difficulty walking, you can call a speedboat to take you to Xiyong Beach, usually costing tens of yuan per person.
