4、Scenic Spots
The island is mainly populated by Dawn Redwood and Ginkgo trees, offering different landscapes throughout the year. It’s a beautiful sight to see the flowers in spring, the greenery in summer, the colorful leaves in autumn, and the bare branches in winter.
Dawn Redwood and Ginkgo are the main tree species on Baxi Island, and their planting is the biggest characteristic of the plant distribution.
The most unique feature of Baxi Island is the large number of Dawn Redwood and Ginkgo trees planted there. There are 2,800 precious Dawn Redwood trees planted in forests, each with 200 trees planted together. On Baxi Island, you can see 14 forests of Dawn Redwood trees, each 10 meters high and 20 centimeters in diameter. Dawn Redwood accounts for 60% of the total number of trees on Baxi Island. This type of plant landscape is rare even in Hunan province. Besides Dawn Redwood, there is also a more precious Ginkgo tree. There are 600 Ginkgo trees on Baxi Island, planted together with Dawn Redwood in more than ten places.
5、Introduction
Baxi Island is the third largest island in the Changsha section of the Xiang River after Orange Island and Moon Island. It is located in Pingtang Street, Yuelu District, Changsha and is formed by the impact of the Xiang River.
The terrain is relatively low. It is possible to walk to the island during the dry season, but not during the rainy season (this needs to be verified after the park is completed). It is about 3,450 meters long from north to south and averages about 300 meters wide from east to west, covering a total area of about 1,100 mu (about 73 hectares). It is home to over 120 plant species. The park is planned to be divided into four major zones from south to north: the wetland area, the dense forest area, the entrance square area, and the EOD business park area (the public space of the African Island of the business park).
