Shangri-La Pudacuo National Park is definitely a very mysterious place. The climate here is extremely complex, with warm spring weather year-round. All kinds of exotic flowers and plants grow here, and the biodiversity of animals and plants is perfect. Here is a travel guide to Shangri-La Pudacuo National Park.
This is Shangri-La Pudacuo National Park in August. I went there with my boyfriend who I hadn’t seen for half a year during the summer vacation.
Pudacuo Park is located in Shangri-La, a plateau. You need to bring an oxygen cylinder. (But whether or not you need to breathe oxygen and how much you need depends on the individual. My boyfriend didn’t breathe much oxygen and was fine after returning from the park. I, on the other hand, was different. I breathed a bottle of oxygen, but I still got a fever when I came back, and it was recurring. In the end, I was forced to end my trip early because of the fever. I bought a ticket for the next day and flew back home directly.)
Here are some suggestions:
1. Carry a backpack. A backpack is the most convenient choice for travel.
2. Take the environmental bus to the top of Pudacuo Park, and then walk out of the park. The environmental bus takes you through the main roads of Pudacuo Park, so you can’t see much scenery. Therefore, it is recommended to take the environmental bus to the park and then walk out. Walking takes about four kilometers, and you can walk along the path by the water. The scenery is complete. However, remember, remember, walk slowly, don’t rush. At high altitudes, the same amount of exercise consumes double the amount of energy, plus the distance is far. Don’t take it lightly.
3. Remember to buy oxygen cylinders and rent down jackets or bring your own. It’s not that you won’t have altitude sickness if you have good stamina at high altitudes. It’s said to be the opposite. People who exercise a lot and have a large lung capacity need more oxygen, but the oxygen is thin at high altitudes, so they are more prone to altitude sickness. I don’t know if it’s true or not, because I had a serious reaction, and my boyfriend was fine, but he should be more active. However, it’s better to be safe than sorry. Altitude sickness is not a trivial matter, so it’s best to bring a bottle. (Although Pudacuo Park is dense with trees, they are all coniferous forests, and the production of pollen is very low.)
It’s quite hot when it doesn’t rain, but you’ll freeze to death as soon as it rains. So it’s recommended to rent thick clothes and take them up. Although it increases the burden and is a bit troublesome, it is indeed necessary. (You can also take a boyfriend up, haha. Share a little skill for carrying down jackets: boyfriend + backpack)
After saying all this, my suggestion for Pudacuo National Park is that if you come from a place with mountains and water, then don’t go.
(It’s also possible that I had a recurring fever for four days after I came back and flew home directly, and I had to get an IV drip for a week, which made me feel like it was not worth it.)
In short, Pudacuo Park is indeed beautiful, but if you have seen mountains and water, it’s not particularly stunning. At least for me, there’s not much difference in terms of sensory experience between broad-leaved forests and coniferous forests.
But if you just want to see mountains and water, it’s worth going. After all, it’s a primitive forest, and the original appearance of the forest is well preserved.
If you are like me, in a long-distance relationship, and just want to spend a good time with your boyfriend, I would advise you to forget about the journey and just enjoy being with him wherever he is. Rent a car and drive around the sea in Dali Ancient Town and Lijiang Ancient Town. Enjoy the time you spend together.
All the pictures are taken with my phone because the ones from the camera haven’t been imported yet. You can take a quick look at the scenery. (Ignore my boyfriend’s big fat hand, haha.)
One very important point to add. When you walk along the water, after a while you will come to a rest area, and there will also be signs telling you how far you have to go. But that’s not important. What’s important is that when you see a boat parked in the water, don’t hesitate. That’s the toilet, haha.
When you’re away from home, the most important thing is to find a toilet. And if you see a toilet, hurry and use it. The distance between each section is quite far for a plateau, or for someone like me who is physically weak. So if you see a toilet, use it if you can. That’s all.
