Scenery of Four Seasons

The Zannian Highway is stunning in all four seasons, making it worthy of the title of the most beautiful highway. In spring, the Zannian Highway is full of gurgling streams, gentle spring breeze, and trees vying to spread their branches, presenting a vibrant scene. In summer, the Zannian Highway is adorned with verdant primeval forests and vibrant wildflowers, adding a double layer of gorgeous embellishment to beautiful Mutual Aid. The most beautiful season on the Zannian Highway is autumn, when the leaves and meadows are a mix of dark green and golden yellow, creating a natural oil painting that cannot be colored. In Zalongou during National Day, even the heavy ears of wheat are filled with happiness.

In winter, the Zannian Highway is covered in snow, waiting for the arrival of spring. The scenic ecological avenue winds through it, like a flying rainbow. The four small-radius return curve sections in the valley section are like a “Chinese knot”.
Driving on this ecological avenue built with passion by the builders, the uniquely shaped “Chinese knot” style roadbed underpasses the bridge line, winding and intertwining through the forest valley. The first tunnel in China with a winding path effectively mitigates the large elevation difference of the Daban Mountain.

Self-driving Tour Route

Depart from Xining City – take the Ninghu First-class Highway (the First-class Highway is currently under construction) and change to the Ninghu Highway. Due to the age of this road, it is narrow and crowded, and it is close to villages. Please pay attention to safety when driving. This road takes about 40 minutes.

Upon reaching Mutual Aid, follow the navigation prompts, go through several streets and enter the main road – Weibei Highway and ascend the Twelve Turns. Take some time to enjoy the scenery at the Twelve Turns (about half an hour). (Be sure to pull the handbrake when parking).

After descending the Twelve Turns, continue forward and you will pass the Beishan Forest Farm. The Beishan Forest Farm is the second scenic spot. It’s beautiful here, especially in autumn, with the whole mountain in a myriad of colors.

Continue forward from the Beishan Forest Farm and you will enter the most beautiful highway – the Zannian Highway. You can enjoy the scenery along the way. There are many parking areas.

Enjoy the scenery as you drive along the Zannian Highway, taking about 2 hours. Upon exiting, you will arrive at Ledu County, Qinghai. You can take the expressway from Ledu to Xining if you are not concerned about cost, or take the provincial highway, which is a first-class highway. The drive takes about 1 hour.
