Chenzhou’s attractions include Mangshan, Jiulong River, Stone Forest, Dongjiang Lake, etc. The scenery here is particularly good, and there are many places to go. Take a look at the scenery and relieve your depressed mood. The strategy is ready, just waiting for you.
My hometown is Loudi, and I would pass through Chenzhou every time I went back to Loudi from Shenzhen. But I never thought I would come to this city to study.
Friends who know Hunan will find that Chenzhou is really clean and comfortable compared to other cities in Hunan.
My university is located at the foot of Wangxianling Mountain, with mountains behind it. Every rainy season, the mountain is always shrouded in a layer of mist. I often jokingly say that I have been cultivating immortality at the Hunan College for four years.
This article describes the attractions of “Zixing”; including Wuman Xiaodongjiang; Gaoqiling; Huilong Mountain; Suspension Bridge. Other places like Aoshang Ancient Village and Banliang Ancient Village can be found in the destination search where I wrote the destination reviews.
Chenzhou also has Mangshan and Ruicheng Hot Spring, two attractions that I didn’t go to. This is a graduation regret. It’s really because it’s too far from the school; it’s not convenient to get there without a car.
I hope everyone will want to come to Chenzhou after seeing my photos ~ hahaha. This must be the best affirmation of my photos and travelogues. There is no beautiful text; we don’t encourage “escaping”, but we provide a place for “escaping” ~ hahaha; we provide a place to relax.
The first day, Wuman Xiaodongjiang
Wuman Xiaodongjiang is actually an attraction that belongs to Dongjiang Lake; it is named after the fog. The best season for fog viewing is July and August; actually I think when I came was the best time. Don’t worry too much about the so-called best. The photo was taken in April this year; around 7am.
Ticket; Free.
Here I would like to explain; we took a Didi taxi to enter the scenic area to see Wuman Xiaodongjiang; it cost about 15 yuan from where we stayed. We booked a car at 6:30 in the morning. We booked it the night before. But!!! Usually after you place an order for Didi, it’s not that smooth. The driver will call and say they want to charge extra. It costs between 30-50 yuan. Why do you have to pay extra? Because if you go in directly, you won’t be allowed in. You have to buy a ticket to Dongjiang Lake. But local license plates won’t have this problem, they’ll get through all the way. If you just go to see the fog in the morning; it would be very expensive to pay that much extra. Of course, when we went there the first time, we met a good driver; he arrived at the pick-up point as promised; and didn’t charge extra along the way ~ hahaha. Actually, we were very nervous too, we were nervous the whole 10-minute drive. Later, we also went to see the fog at Xiaodongjiang; this driver had already raised the price to 25 yuan. So everyone, feel free to haggle the price~
There is a fog viewing walkway at Wuman Xiaodongjiang; it’s called the No. 2 Bridge Fog Viewing Walkway. Just enter this address when you take a Didi taxi.
This small boat is 20 yuan per person; we didn’t haggle the price, it seems like everyone pays 20 yuan per person. The tour time is about half an hour; this mainly depends on the boatman’s mood.
There will be a fishing boat stop every so often
I personally recommend taking this small boat~ although it’s 20 yuan per person. But being in the fairy mist; it feels like your whole lungs have been cleansed. It’s really very comfortable. Xiaodongjiang in the morning is a natural oxygen bar. Of course, I need to mention here; if you see rain in the morning, there will be no fog at Xiaodongjiang.
The water in Xiaodongjiang is very clear and very cool
When we went there; we saw some people camping. They set up two tents under the small pavilion. This walkway is only suitable for camping with tents under that pavilion. If you want to camp during holidays, you have to come early to grab a spot~
This walkway is not long; walking back and forth won’t take more than half an hour.
After seeing all the photos, you found that there are no pictures of casting a net, right? When we went there, they said “casting a net at 7:30 on the dot”. But when we went, the boatman said that now casting a net costs money. 100 yuan for six times~ Some friends said they saw it without paying; maybe it was because someone else paid. After all, it’s not easy to come here once. This is definitely a must-do action.
After visiting Xiaodongjiang, you can walk back along the road; drivers will ask if you want to take a car for 5 yuan per person to take you out of the scenic area.
Gaoqiling; Danxia landform. It’s similar to Danxiashan in Shaoguan~
No entrance fee
Again, we took a Didi taxi here; from where we stayed.
We took a ride-hailing car here with two people and paid 10 yuan for the gratitude fee; a total of 27 yuan. If you take a Didi private car, they will still call you to ask for extra after you order it. There’s really nothing you can do about it; they have to make money. But as a tourist; when you encounter something like this; your fondness for a city will instantly decrease. Just refuse directly if you encounter an extra charge, the scenic area is free!!! Don’t listen to them talking nonsense.
The first time I went to Gaoqiling was in my sophomore year; I’m still very grateful for those friends to this day. They would call you to go out and play no matter where they went~ The meaning of college is to get to know them. Without them, I would definitely be like most people, spending my four years of college in the dormitory. I would know nothing about Chenzhou.
When I went there in my sophomore year, there were no railings yet; I was young back then. I didn’t know what fear was
Now the Gaoqiling scenic area is much better developed than before, but there are no trash cans in the scenic area. Everyone needs to take their own trash with them; pay attention to protecting the environment.
There are local villagers selling drinks, mineral water, cold jelly, eight-treasure porridge, etc. at the top of the mountain~ They are all very affordable and they also have chairs built by themselves for resting
There are also many farmhouses at the foot of Gaoqiling; there are no toilets in the scenic area. If you absolutely have to go to the toilet, there are some at the farmhouses at the foot of the mountain. Of course, if you don’t eat there; it seems like it costs one yuan.
Chenzhou In Water and On One Side Theme Inn ¥307 and up Book NowThis is the inn where we stayed
The location is in Zixing Luobei; this is where you take a Didi to Wuman Xiaodongjiang.
It’s very easy to find~
The inn supports various booking methods~ Book wherever it’s cheaper. We are used to booking through Qunar~
This is the hotel front desk; the front desk is located on the third floor of the inn
The inn’s bar~ It’s especially charming at night
I really like the little bamboo poles on top; the boss said “He brought these back from the countryside”. Do you believe it? Hahahahahaha
Round bed~
This room is the most expensive room in the whole place~ Of course, it’s only 400+ yuan. But for college students~ then….. So college students have to book a room in a group~
That’s right~ we slept in this room for three nights~ hahaha. Opening the curtains and the door is the bar. I really like the color scheme; including the color combinations
We stayed at In Water and On One Side for three days; don’t ask me why I stayed for three days for a two-day trip? Because I was spending time clearing my mind the rest of the time. Hahaha; The biggest feeling I got was that the boss was hands-on with everything, he is a very excellent “young man”~
No more talk. Will you charge for the advertisement downstairs?!!!
I am actually quite picky; but I was really treated beyond words. So I recommend everyone stay here. For more details, please check the inn reviews yourself.
The second day, Zixing Huilong Mountain No entrance fee
If you know the way from where we stayed to Huilong Mountain, it should take an hour and a half; it took us two hours to get there. The Didi taxi fare is about 80 yuan one way~
There is no bus to Huilong Mountain; buses only go to the town, and once you get to the town, you can only take a motorcycle to the top. I suggest taking a private car or booking a Didi in advance; I don’t think Didis will necessarily be willing to go. We wanted to see the sea of clouds, so we got up at 2am; and didn’t leave until 4am. We couldn’t find the place, we kept going down the wrong road. We finally arrived around 6am. By then the sun had already risen, the best time to see the sunrise is probably 5am.
Here is a panorama for you~
These pictures of Huilong Mountain were taken with a mobile phone (i6plus)~ The image quality is worse compared to a camera~ We drove directly to the top; then there was a short distance to climb; we climbed to the viewing platform. If you hike up the mountain, it will probably take about 3 hours.
This is the road to the viewing platform
We were still late; we didn’t see the sunrise. We didn’t see the sea of clouds either
I suggest you stay overnight at the top of the mountain; there are inns up there. Because if you go to see the sunrise in the morning, it’s too rushed. And there are few cars that will pick you up at 4am.
This is the viewing point at the top of the mountain; this is where you see the sunrise. It overlooks the entire Huilong Mountain
At that time, it was over 6am; it was very windy at the viewing platform. I didn’t expect it to be so cold, I was wearing a skirt. The temperature was probably below 10 degrees at that time, it was so cold. The wind hurt my ears. Friends who like to take photos can wear some flowing clothes. The wind makes it look especially beautiful.
We started to go back around 7:30am; the entire viewing session was about half an hour. The round trip took 4 hours. Hahaha~ I feel sorry for myself, and even more sorry for my companion; they started vomiting on the way back. They said they would never come again. I was quite happy. If I had seen the sea of clouds and the sunrise, there would really be no regrets.
We got back to the inn around 9am; and slept soundly.
We set off for the Zixing Suspension Bridge around 5pm; we actually wanted to go to Shoufo Temple, but it was already closed when we went there; oh well~ Then we went to the Suspension Bridge
Attractions around the Suspension Bridge; Shoufo Temple; Hunan Botanical Garden are all free. If you want to go, you have to go early.
I don’t know why I just really really like this Suspension Bridge~
It’s also very windy on the Suspension Bridge~ You need to wear more clothes or it will be a bit cold.
There are many restaurants around the Suspension Bridge, as well as a food street; it’s basically a street of street food stalls. We didn’t eat there. We went to another place to eat stone pot fish. Of course, I’ll tell everyone this once, I highly recommend following the recommendations on Dazhong Dianping~ Eat at the best one. We do the same.
There are also many places that sell grilled fish~ the kind of small fish in strips. 10 yuan for one; 10 yuan for three. Prices vary.
Closing remarks
It’s over so quickly, right~ We went to some niche places; and it didn’t cost much.
Dongjiang Lake; I went there once before. The water is the same as Xiaodongjiang. Taking a cruise to another attraction takes a really long time; it’s not as fun as taking a fishing boat. Of course, different people have different preferences. If you want to go, you can check out other travelers’ strategies, I don’t know much about the attractions inside Dongjiang Lake.
The attractions are arranged for a three-day trip. You can check into the inn the night before; go to Wuman Xiaodongjiang early the next morning. Go to Huilong Mountain early on the third day. You can go back home on the third afternoon.
Transportation; If you take the high-speed train, take the 201 to Luobei and get off, the fare is 6 yuan; no ticket seller, no change. Get off the bus and cross the road to see the In Water and On One Side Inn.
If you take the train, there are many minibuses around the train station that go to Zixing, you can take any of them; get off at Luobei.
Cities surrounding Chenzhou include Guangzhou; Changsha. You can come here. It’s very close anyway. You can leave on Friday and return on Sunday. Hahaha~
I didn’t introduce much about food; there is a street food market with barbecue near the Liyu River. If you want to eat fish, just go to the side of the bridge across the river, there are many restaurants there, it has already formed an industry chain. It’s not far from where we stayed, you can walk there.
Mangshan and Ruicheng, these attractions are not in the same place as the attractions in this article~ so it will be a bit of a journey.
Since you’ve come to Chenzhou and Zixing, enjoy the “slow life” of Zixing.
