Anzi River is located in Sichuan Province, China. The local environment is a humid monsoon climate zone, so the local rainfall is abundant. There are many kinds of vegetation and wild animals here, fresh air, mountain spring water, and continuous mountains. It is also a unique experience to listen quietly to the birds and flowers of nature.
Where is the best place to see the red leaves in autumn at Anzi River Nature Reserve? Many places are listed on Baidu, such as Guangwu Mountain, Xiling Snow Mountain, Miyaluo Bipenggou, Dagu Glacier, etc. All these places are known to people, and every weekend, the roads are simply blocked. There is even a situation where tickets for Bipenggou are hard to find. Don’t think that buying tickets online will be easy, the long queues at the online ticket collection points are also a few miles long.
With the aim of experiencing the best tourism with the least amount of money, we searched the internet for information, and finally chose this scenic spot – Chongzhou Anzi River Nature Reserve, which is close, has few tourists, and has low fees.
Anzi River Nature Reserve is located in Jiguan Mountain Township within Chongzhou City, Sichuan Province. It is a transition zone from the Chengdu Plain to the eastern edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It is a forest and wildlife type nature reserve that mainly protects rare wild animals such as giant pandas and their habitats.
Put away watching mountains, watching water, and admiring red leaves. When we woke up in the morning, there were many clouds in the sky, which were very beautiful. However, the camera could not record the beauty at that time.
It is more than eighty kilometers from Chengdu, and the latter part is a winding country road. It usually takes two and a half hours to get there.
After entering the countryside road within Chongzhou, there are overhanging rocks on both sides of the road, which look quite dangerous. Fortunately, there are guardrails to block them, but you still have to pass through the dangerous areas quickly.
We met several groups of cyclists along the way, which proves that the news we saw online saying that many cyclists like to come here is true.
On the road, we also saw some families going out on a trip. They spread out a tablecloth on the green ground by the roadside and set out the food they brought from home. Enjoy the delicious food while admiring nature in a beautiful environment, how wonderful.
When we were approaching Anzi River, there was a great place to see the beautiful scenery next to a tunnel, by a reservoir.
The closer we got to Anzi River, the bluer the sky and the fresher the air. I could hardly take a deep breath of fresh air and save it for later.
The part illuminated by the sun and the part covered by clouds formed a yin and yang boundary, a beautiful contrast.
There were also some relatively dangerous places on the road, which were the marks left by mudslides, where no grass grew.
At a fork in the road, one side was a concrete road leading upwards to the Jiguan Mountain Scenic Area, and the other side was a muddy path with a sign saying “undeveloped scenic area”.
We walked along the muddy path for about five minutes, after winding through the small path, we finally reached Anzi River Nature Reserve.
Here, there was a family who had set up a wooden gate at the sign of Anzi River Nature Reserve. Pedestrians and vehicles had to pay a fee of 10 yuan per car to enter, I don’t know if it was for parking fees, it felt a bit like private charging.
(But here, the sky is high and the emperor is far away, and no one cares. Before, in the mountains of Qionglai, we also had to pay 10 yuan for parking fees)
This farmer’s family had decorated their house beautifully, and against the backdrop of the red leaves around it, the colors were very beautiful.
There were very few people here. We only encountered a few people taking pictures here.
The advantage of having few people is that you can take pictures anytime you want.
Fortunately, the red leaves here were very beautiful, not disappointing the 10 yuan parking fee. Although there were not many red leaves, it was precisely because of these few that they were precious.
Put away playing in the water and having a barbecue by the river.
We walked past the yard and walked back for about five minutes. After passing an old bridge, there was a relatively large area. Coincidentally, we met a dozen people having a barbecue by the river. Smelling the aroma, I wanted to be cheeky and eat with them.
Walking through another 200-meter path, we saw the Anzi River.
The drop was not large, and the current was not fast. If it were summer, you could swim and play here.
A large rock divided the reservoir into a large lake and a small stream.
A small river blocked our way. We all worked together to build a stone path to try and cross the river.
In the end, we still got our shoes wet and crossed the river.
Against the backdrop of natural colors, any composition is beautiful. The green water, the white rapids, in the lens, can be transformed into a silky and textured milky white.
It is very convenient to have a barbecue here, you can get water easily, there is enough space, and it is spacious.
Sitting by the river, listening to the gurgling water, you can also sit there quietly for an afternoon.
Put away hiking to Jiguan Mountain Forest Park. Jiguan Mountain and Anzi River are on the same line, only Jiguan Mountain is further away.
Jiguan Mountain Natural Park is located in the northwest corner of Chongzhou City, Sichuan Province, within the only giant panda nature reserve in Chengdu – Anzi River Giant Panda Nature Reserve. The forest coverage rate is 95%, and it is famous for its unique and beautiful natural scenery and cultural heritage, such as “mountain peaks, forests, waterfalls, snow mountains, hot springs, sea of clouds, and giant pandas”.
Jiguan Mountain Forest Park not only allows you to experience the spectacular red leaves, but in this place where the negative oxygen ions are so high that they intoxicate you, you can also taste the gifts of the mountains – wild vegetables, mountain delicacies, and mountain persimmons.
There are stalls selling wild game at the entrance and along the road. Whether it is genuine or fake depends on your own discerning eyes.
It was not very crowded when we went, and we occasionally encountered groups of people here and there.
This wide mountain road looks quite grand, and against the backdrop of the trees on both sides, it looks even more magnificent.
Most of the way is a gravel road, and the slope is not steep, so it is not very difficult to walk.
Of course, you can also see patches of green.
Here, you will see forests of straight tree trunks. The trees are “grand, beautiful, strange, rare, and unique”. Seeing these trees, I couldn’t help but think of the Populus euphratica in the elementary school textbooks. They also had straight trunks, like people who stand tall and upright.
We kept walking and walking. It didn’t look easy to walk, but it actually took a lot of energy. After three hours, we finally reached the top, but the weather was bad, and there was fog on the mountain, so we couldn’t see the “Four Girls Mountain” or the beautiful scenery below very clearly.
Although the ending wasn’t as good as we imagined, the important thing is the beautiful scenery along the way.
