One-day Tour Guide to Bijia Mountain in Jinzhou

Jinzhou is not only famous for its delicious barbecue but also a great place for tourism. Bijia Mountain is a must-visit attraction when traveling to Jinzhou. It features beautiful mountains and waters, a pleasant environment, natural scenery and Taoist culture, making it perfect for a family trip. How do you travel to Bijia Mountain?

1. Tour Guide

The most famous attraction in Bijia Mountain is the “Sky Road”. It is a natural cobblestone path formed by tidal erosion that connects the island to the mainland, about 1.6 kilometers long. It appears and disappears with the rise and fall of the tide. When the tide recedes, the seawater slowly retreats to both sides of the stone path, revealing the passage and leading directly to Bijia Mountain. Tourists can also climb the mountain along the stone path at this time. When the tide rises, tourists can only take a boat to Bijia Mountain. Therefore, tourists who want to walk on the Sky Road must pay attention to the tide table in the scenic spot and avoid walking when the tide is high.

On the beach on the Bohai Bay side connected by the Sky Road, there will be locals selling some small commodities and some fresh seafood just caught. Interested tourists can have a look. The prices are generally not very expensive.

Whether tourists arrive at the foot of Bijia Mountain via the Sky Road or by speedboat, the first thing they see is a stone-built Heavenly Gate. There is a white marble statue of Sun Wukong guarding the mountain gate on the left side of the mountain gate. After entering the mountain gate, there is a stone staircase winding upwards. On both sides of the road are lush trees, and then you reach the Zhenren Temple, which is a stone pagoda-like building. This is where the founder of the mountain died. Continue to climb the stairs and you can visit the Lüzu Pavilion, Wumu Palace and other scenic spots along the way. After that, you reach the Sanqing Pavilion on the main peak.

The main reason for visiting Sanqing Pavilion is to see its architecture. It is a six-story building with arch-shaped stone doors and windows all carved with relief, and there is a white marble statue inside the pavilion. Tourists can climb to the top and have a panoramic view of Jinzhou Bay. On the way down the mountain, you can also see a large bodhi tree, as well as the Pangu Culture Plaza, Fayu Temple and other scenic spots. You can take a speedboat back from Bijia Mountain, or if the tide is low and the Sky Road is revealed, you can walk back slowly from the Sky Road.
