1、Lingfeng
Lingfeng is the epitome of scenic beauty in the whole mountain, with a peak height of about 270 meters. A trip to Lingfeng can be divided into “daytime” and “nighttime” experiences. The daytime focus is on the Guanyin Cave and the ancient cave, as well as attractions like the Beidou Cave in Daolingfeng and Hepzhangfeng (i.e., Lingfeng); while nighttime focuses on the “silhouette” of the mountain peaks, which change dramatically, making the beauty of Yandang lie in the night view of Lingfeng.
2、Lingyan
One of the three wonders of Yandang (Lingfeng, Lingyan, and Dalingqiu), Lingyan is a giant rock hundreds of feet high and about a hundred zhang long. At the bottom of the rock there are three parallel rock caves, the Fuxi Cave, the Wind Cave, and the Lingyan Cave. Walking through the rock caves deep into Lingyan, looking up, you can see a sliver of sky light pouring down from the top of the rock, like a green rainbow spanning the sky, a spectacular sight in the mountains.
3、Dalingqiu
Dalingqiu is located on the west of Ma’anling in Yandang Mountain. It was known as Xinei Valley in ancient times, and is a famous waterfall in China, known as “the No. 1 Waterfall in the World”. It is 28 kilometers wide from east to west and 7.5 kilometers long from north to south, with an area of 28 square kilometers. Water falls from the 190-meter-high Lianyunzhang, like a white ribbon hanging high in the air. The water in the pool under the impact of the waterfall makes a thunderous roar. When the sunlight shines, countless rainbows appear.
4、Yanhu
Located on the top of Yanhu Gang in Yandang Mountain. At an altitude of 990 meters. In the past, this lake was “ten miles square, with water that never dried up”, with reeds growing densely in the lake, and when wild geese returned, they often stayed here, hence the name Yanhu. There were originally three lakes, north, middle, and east, with the middle lake being the largest, and Xu Xiake called it “the home of wild geese”. Since Yanhu was first recorded, it has gone through a thousand years, and in recent times the lake has become silted up, leaving only a small pond.
5、Xianqiao
The Xianqiao Scenic Area, at the northernmost point of Yandang Mountain, is said to be where the immortal Prince Jin rode a crane and flew to. Many of the attractions here are related to this flying immortal: Xianqiao, Xian Ting, Xianshen Cave (Beishiliang Cave), Chui Xiao Feng, Xian Ting Shan, Dan Zao Yan, Shi Qi Ping … within the 100 square kilometers scenic area, every mountain, every water, is filled with a refreshing, penetrating, immortal aura.
6、Xianshengmen
Xianshengmen is formed by two cliffs facing each other, forming a “stone gate”, also known as “Xianshengmen”. This gate is about 200 meters high, with only 10 meters between the two gates. The two walls stand upright and go straight up to the sky, magnificent and majestic, known as “the No. 1 Gate in the World”, the “gate” of Yandang Mountain. Within the gate, the cliffs are surrounded on all sides, with a deep, quiet atmosphere; beneath the foot, the stream gurgles, the scenery is extremely secluded; looking up, the top of the wall is complex, leaving only a single line, “not at noon or night, the sun and moon cannot be seen”.
7、San Zhe Pu
The scenic area is connected to Lingfeng in the east and Lingyan in the west, including Jingming Temple, Martyrs Cemetery, Tiechengzhang, Meihua Zhuang, Lao Hou Pi Yi and other attractions, covering an area of 3 square kilometers. San Zhe Pu flows through three cliffs, cascading into three waterfalls, upper, middle, and lower, with the middle waterfall being the most spectacular. Some even call it “the best scenery in Yandang”.
8、Yang Jiao Dong
Yang Jiao Dong Scenic Area is a branch of Yandang Mountain that slopes off to the side. Before it was incorporated into Yandang Mountain, it was known to the world by its own name – Fangshan, and had its own founder. That founder was a feathered immortal. Its series of cave cultural education and other buildings are therefore full of Daoist and shamanistic atmosphere, making it the most culturally rich area of the eight scenic spots in Yandang Mountain, imbued with Chinese folk religious culture.
