1. Shaohua Mountain
Address: Liujiagou Village, Shaohua Township, Huayin, Shaanxi Province, about 5 kilometers southeast of the county town.
Route: Take a bus from Xi’an Bus Station to Weinan, then take another bus to Huayin, get off and take a minibus to Shaohua Mountain.
2. Hongqing Mountain National Forest Park
Altitude: 1000-3000 meters
Address: Baqiao District, Xi’an
Bus route: Buses 213, 718, 231, 233, etc. go directly to the foot of the mountain.
3. Zhongnan Mountain
Altitude: 2604 meters
Address: 15 kilometers south of Changan District, Xi’an
Bus route: Currently, Bus 500 from Xi’an Railway Station reaches the terminal; walk 100 meters south from Shaanxi Guanzhong Folk Museum Station to reach the ticket hall of Zhongnan Mountain.
4. Taiping National Forest Park
Altitude: The highest is Bingjingding, 3015 meters
Address: Taiping National Forest Park, Taipingyu, Huxian County, Xi’an
Bus route: Take a bus from any bus station in Xi’an to “Taiping National Forest Park”; take bus 921 or the Ring Mountain Tourism Line 1.
Self-driving route: Drive south from the intersection of the West Third Ring Road and the South Third Ring Road on the West Taiping Expressway to the park, about 1 hour’s drive.
5. Lishan National Forest Park
Ticket: Huashan Palace (Huashan Pond + Lishan) peak season 150 yuan/person, off-season 120 yuan/person
Address: South of Lintong District, Xi’an
Bus route: Take Bus 306 from the Liberation Hotel in front of the east square of Xi’an Railway Station, which is a special line from Xi’an to the Terracotta Army and Lishan.
Self-driving route: To drive from Xi’an to Lishan, you can take the Xi-Lin Expressway, about 24 kilometers.
6. Qinling Mountains
Altitude: The main peak Taibai Mountain is 3771.2 meters above sea level
Address: Jixian Town, Zhouzhi County, Xi’an
Bus route: Take the Ring Mountain Tourism Line 1 bus (get off at Qinling National Botanical Garden Station) from the east side of the North Square of Big Wild Goose Pagoda.
Self-driving route: Xi’an Ring Road Expressway – Xihan Expressway (get off at Laoyuku Toll Station) – Ring Mountain Tourism Road (S107 Provincial Road) west for about 18 kilometers – Qinling National Botanical Garden.
7. Taiping Wanhuashan
Altitude: 1917 meters
Address: Taiping Wanhuashan Scenic Area, Ranjiawan, Taipingyu, Huxian County, Xi’an
Bus route: Take Bus 921 in the city to Taipingyu Pass and walk 1.5 kilometers into the mountain.
8. Hei River National Forest Park
Address: Hei River National Forest Park, 398 kilometers from National Highway 108 in Zhouzhi County, near Xi’an
Bus route: From Xi’an Fengqing Road Bus Station, take a bus to Zhouzhi County Bus Station, then transfer to a bus from Zhouzhi to Houyuzi, Banfangzi, and Damanghe to the park management office (Shuiyuan Mountain Villa); you can also take a direct bus to Houyuzi to enter the park area.
Self-driving route: From Xi’an, take the Xi-Bao Expressway to Wugong Station, get off the expressway and go south to Zhouzhi County, or take the Xi-Bao South Line to Zhouzhi County. From Zhouzhi County, drive south for 12 kilometers to Mazhao Town, continue south, enter the mountain for 46 kilometers, and you will reach the park management office (Shuiyuan Mountain Villa).
9. Zhuque National Forest Park
Altitude: 1500-3015 meters
Address: Bali Ping, Laoyu, Huxian County, Xi’an
Bus route: Take a bus to Huxian from Xi’an Bus Station (Water Conservancy Bus Station) or the South City Bus Station, get off at the Huxian Sanqiuyi Station, and transfer to a bus to Zhuque Forest Park.
Self-driving route: Take the Xi’an Ring Road Expressway to the Xihan Expressway towards Hanzhong, get off at the Zhuque exit, drive 8 kilometers along the Hu-Cai Road towards Zhuque Park and you will reach the ticket office of Zhuque National Forest Park.
10. Louguantai National Forest Park
Altitude: 501-2997 meters
Ticket price: Peak season 35 yuan/person; off-season 30 yuan/person
Address: Zhouzhi County, Xi’an
Bus route: Ring Mountain Tourism Line 1; take the Xi’an-Louguantai bus from Fengqing Road Bus Station.
Self-driving route: From Xi’an, take Ziyu Avenue to Ring Mountain Road, drive west along Ring Mountain Road, and you will reach the scenic area.
