Suichang has many water attractions, and the transportation to the scenic areas is also very convenient. Transportation guide: There are two buses to Nanjianyan every day, departing at 7:30 and 13:50. The return trips depart at 9:00 and 15:00. You can also choose to hire a car at Shisunshou to visit nearby attractions such as Shenlong Valley and Qianfo Mountain. The price for a day’s car rental is around 300 yuan.
Although it is named after the rock, Nanjianyan is most famous for its terraces and mountain views in the clouds. The combination of forest and rock scenery makes this scenic area a “photography base”.
The main peak of Nanjianyan is 1,600 meters above sea level, so the climate is pleasant here. In the early morning after rain, you can see the sea of clouds and terraces outside the entrance to the scenic area. This view is famous in southern Zhejiang, along with the Yunhe terraces. As you enter the scenic area, you can see a pair of stone pillars rising abruptly from the Tianzhu Peak area, standing over 100 meters tall. Along the way, you will also encounter cliffs, bamboo seas, and waterfalls. On top of the mountain, there is also a 2,000-square-meter alpine lake.
Dushan Village
Transportation guide: Dushan Village belongs to Jiao Tan Township and can be reached by minibus from Wangcunkou Town and Longyang Township. The minibuses operate from 7:30 to 17:00, with one bus every hour.
Dushan Village is an ancient village located on the side of the Wuqi River in the southwestern mountainous area of Suichang. It dates back to the reign of Emperor Xiaozong of the Southern Song Dynasty. The stone archway from the Longqing period of the Ming Dynasty is still standing tall in the scenic area. You can see the magnificent fortress walls and ancient wells, which showcase the former prosperity of Dushan Village. It also enjoys the reputation of having a Ming Dynasty street. The Ye Clan Ancestral Hall and the Baoshou Temple, built during the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, are also well preserved.
