The daily life, clothing and headwear, marriage ceremonies, festive customs, ancestral worship ceremonies, dance art, etc. in the exhibition hall will make us feel very close. It is recommended to watch “Empresses in the Palace” again before going.

Buddhist Image Exhibition

The Buddhist images collected are mainly stone sculptures and gilded bronze statues. Stone sculptures are mainly from the Northern Dynasties and Sui and Tang Dynasties, and gilt bronze statues are from the Sixteen Kingdoms to the Qing Dynasty. The statues can be divided into two styles, Han and Tibetan, and they are artistic treasures in China’s cultural treasury. The Northern Dynasties are elegant and graceful, the Sui and Tang Dynasties are elegant and dignified, the Song Dynasty is realistic and natural, the Ming and Qing Dynasties are simple and secular, Tibetan Buddhist images are widely themed and unique in style, gradually shifting towards the Central Plains style from the Yuan Dynasty, which also reflects the political and cultural origins at that time.
