Tips

1. [Highlight] If you are going to Libo recently, please take the old road, take the old road, take the old road!! Following the navigation to the expressway is a waste of time! Because it is under construction, after getting off the expressway, we did not arrive at the scenic area as we wished, but instead turned into a magical construction site, which had just rained and was muddy. Then there was the mountain road, we set off from Libo County, it took us an hour and a half to get there. But on the way back, we took the old road directly, and it took only half an hour.

The next day, we went to Maolan, and there were roads blocked everywhere. Finally, we found a field path leading to Maolan. My friend said that if we take this path, we would be screwed if we met another car. It rained later, and we eventually gave up on Maolan. It was a little regretful.

2. The sightseeing bus is not cheap, but you have to buy it. We found out that no one was walking inside. They were all taking the bus.

I just got back home, my body is still adjusting, and my friend happens to have free time, so we decided to go on a trip. Xiaoqikong, I wanted to visit this scenic area a few years ago, but for some reason I have already forgotten, I couldn’t make it. This time I was lucky and finally got my wish. If I had gone the next day, the experience might not have been as good.

Xiaoqikong is mainly about mountains and water. The mountains and water here are different from Guilin, they are more like hidden gems, fresh and elegant.

We bought tickets for the sightseeing bus at the entrance and it took us to Wolongtan. It happened to rain yesterday, so the water level was very high, the Zhulian Waterfall and the stillness of the water formed a stark contrast. It lived up to the saying, “clear rapids, green pool, reflecting the clear sky.” It also lifted my spirits.

My favorite spot was the Yuanyang Lake. Actually, rafting is also good, but I’m a natural coward, and my friend said she can’t swim and is afraid of death, so we gave up all the rafting activities. Yuanyang Lake is a boating activity. A small iron boat floats on the lake, the water is green and the mountains are blue, it sways slowly, watching the forest in the water rise up, there is a sense of joy. There was a similar activity in my previous trip to New Orleans, which was mainly about seeing alligators, wild boars, and it was exciting, different from the stillness of Guizhou, here is more tranquility. Two huge trees grow out of the water, in the middle of the river, like a gate.

The forest in the lake is dense, there are quiet waterways that can only accommodate one small boat, and there are also wide and tranquil lakes with a view of the distant mountains. After I spent some time messing up the rowing, we were finally able to enjoy a leisurely boat trip on the lake.

Sitting in the small boat, we started to eat lunch. I love picnics because I can eat snacks. Growing up, it turned into a road trip benefit. Every time I go on a road trip, even for a short time, I want to buy something to chew on, it feels like there’s something to look forward to on the road. When I get to my destination, if it’s a park, I’ll carry some food and eat it on the way, perfect! That’s exactly how I felt at the moment, eating beef jerky, my friend was rowing hard and kept rolling her eyes at me to help, so I quickly stuffed some beef jerky in her mouth to calm her down.

The boat trip on the lake came to an abrupt end when I discovered that if I tried to row forward, I would eventually have to return the same way. Turn, turn, go back, go back.

Not about sour, but about spicy.

Before going to Guizhou, I had a bowl of sour soup fish. I was thoroughly soured, and I didn’t eat sour soup fish for the rest of the trip.

The plum juice in the bayberry soup is also good, but don’t order the loquat, it’s tasteless.

Barbecue, good, good, good! The skewers are a little old, but you can get a grill and order chicken wings. The chicken wings are very fresh. It was raining heavily that day, and there was a yellow heavy rain warning. We sat in a small restaurant, listening to the meat sizzling on the grill, the potatoes and lotus root slices slowly changing color, from hard living things to delicious and slightly browned delicacies. The surroundings slowed down, only the silver curtain of the sky remained, drowning out all the noise.

In Guangzhou, everyone is used to having dim sum in the morning, but in Libo, people meet at beef noodle shops in the morning, they meet up to eat rice noodles!

Ice powder is also available in Chongqing, but the special thing about Guizhou is that the ice powder has more toppings.
