Mawei Post Station – The Red Trees in the Garden Are Full of Fragrance

“The flags are in disarray, what can you do? Few people go south, many go north. The dust has faded, the fragrant powder is bright, the lychees have reached Maweipo.” Maweipo is the present-day Mawei Post Station.

Mawei Post Station is located in the west of Xingping County, Shaanxi Province. During the An Lushan Rebellion, Emperor Xuanzong of Tang fled to this place, and under the coercion of the accompanying soldiers, ordered Yang Guifei to be put to death. Today, three kilometers east of Yang Guifei’s tomb, the “First Post Station of the Silk Road” – Mawei Post Station Folk Culture Experience Village has been built.

Mawei Post Station is divided into three valleys, East Valley, Middle Valley and West Valley, featuring snacks and folk customs. You can taste all kinds of snacks from Shaanxi here, and the handicrafts sold on the street are dazzling, including pottery, clay sculptures, hand-woven fabrics, dough figures, etc., which are deeply loved by tourists.

Transportation

Take a bus to Xingping at the West Bus Station, and then transfer to bus No. 1 or 5, get off at Mawei Post Station Vegetable Market, walk north for a few meters to reach the destination.

China Tangyuan – There Are Mountains and Forests in the City

“How can you know the beauty of spring without visiting the garden?” China Tangyuan, famous for its bonsai art, is truly a place to linger with its pavilions, terraces and courtyards, small bridges and flowing water! The garden is dotted with “dry landscapes”, and if it weren’t for the stone mills and grinders with a strong local flavor that pave the paths, you might be fooled into thinking you are in a Japanese garden.

The garden not only has a vast water system and a group of carp, but also more than 20,000 ancient trees, some of which are hundreds to thousands of years old. There are weeping willows from Baqiao, ancient locust trees from Guanzhong, black pines from Qinling Mountains, Lagerstroemia indica from Shennongjia, thousand-year-old ginkgo trees, and century-old soapberry trees; there are also loquat trees, white magnolias, cherry trees, peach trees, apricot trees, etc., for visitors to enjoy flowers and taste fruits. The numerous tree species are lush and leafy, forming forests that make people feel deeply moved and realize the meaning of returning to nature!
