I believe you all know that Xijiang Thousand Households Miao Village is a 4A-level scenic spot in China. The village in this scenic spot is the most complete and original ecological culture preserved in the country. Here you can see natural villages all over the mountain, and most importantly, this place is really great to visit.

It is best not to come to the Miao Village from July 15th to August 20th, as there are many people, the prices are high, and you may not be able to book a room.
3、Tour route
Take the sightseeing bus from the north gate into the Miao Village – get off the sightseeing bus at the small north gate – walk from Bridge No. 7 to Bridge No. 1 – take the sightseeing bus across the bridge to the viewing platform – after admiring the village, get off the viewing platform
Enter the Miao Village from the west gate – get off the sightseeing bus – reach the viewing platform – after admiring the viewing platform, take the sightseeing bus to Bridge No. 1 – walk around the Miao Village
3.1. Miao costumes photo shoot at the viewing platform
Whether it’s embroidery or stitching, Miao costumes showcase superb craftsmanship. The clothing craftsmanship outside this place is not so exquisite. There are many shops on the viewing platform that provide photo services, and there will be aunts holding photos asking you if you need to take photos.
3.2. Making glutinous rice cakes
This is an activity that seems simple but you will find it difficult when you do it yourself. You can see people selling glutinous rice cakes in many places. Just tell the boss and you can experience it. Most girls may not be able to hit it at all because the glutinous rice is very sticky and you can’t lift the hammer.
3.3. Photographing Xijiang
If you want to take a panoramic view of Xijiang, you need to be on the viewing platform. Of course, you can also book a hotel near the viewing platform.
The daytime and nighttime of Xijiang are two extreme visual experiences, one is ethereal and the other is full of worldly desires.
3.4. Visit the family museum of Li Yufu, the peasant painter
Li Yufu is one of the representatives of the new Miao culture. His paintings are very realistic. There is also a long table banquet here.
3.5. Visit the Miao King
The “Miao King” we are talking about is actually the “Drum Keeper”. The current Drum Keeper is called Tang Shoucheng, who is about 50 years old and is responsible for managing the Miao sacrificial rites and guarding the sacred copper-patterned drum, which is the drum in the Drum Keeper’s Hall. He is not only a living history of the Miao people, but also a primary school teacher. He has opened his own Miao Herb Hall. When he is free, he will go up the mountain to collect herbs. He is very kind and easy to talk to. Many people who have heard of him come to ask for medicine. There is a private museum on the top floor of the Miao Herb Hall, which houses many Miao artifacts and historical origins.
4、Food Recommendations
4.1. Long Table Banquet
You really haven’t been to Xijiang if you haven’t tried the long table banquet. In the past, the long table banquet was only eaten by Miao people when they entertained important guests. Now basically you can eat it whenever you want. The tables are put together, and there are eight or nine fixed dishes, such as sour soup fish, Drum Keeper’s meat, bacon, etc. Many restaurants in the village offer it. At the same time, they will arrange whether you eat it by the roadside or indoors according to the number of people. I recommend Anong Mountain Village, where you can watch performances.
4.2. Mountain Stream
The unique wine culture of the Miao people. A lady holds a bowl of wine to toast the guests, and the girls next to her immediately line up, one after another, pouring wine into the lady’s bowl. Many guests often become “heavy drinkers” unknowingly in this way.
