Chengdu’s summer is hot and winter is cold. Spring, however, has a comfortable climate, perfect for basking in the sun and taking a stroll on the old streets. It’s so “ba-shi” (a local Chengdu slang meaning comfortable and enjoyable)! So, where in Chengdu is best for strolling? Let’s check it out together, and go on a leisurely outing this weekend!

1、Jin Sha Lane

Jin Sha Lane, the newly popular graffiti street in Chengdu, is painted with Chengdu elements all the way down. On weekdays, there are very few tourists. You can come here to leisurely check in and stroll~

“Ba Er Duo” (spoiled husband), “You Che Huo” (You’re so angry!), Panda Superman, Feng Qiu Huang (Phoenix Seeking a Mate), Zhuge Three Kingdoms, Mahjong Studying Abroad, Jin Sha San Xing Tui (San Xing Tui Ruins)… Chengdu’s unique features can all be seen here. The old residential areas on both sides of the alley, with the addition of graffiti, have also gained a touch of romantic artistic color.

Besides authentic Chengdu life elements, you can also take a picture with the new top trend this year, “Bing Dwen Dwen” (the Chengdu street version)! The cute and cuddly panda elements, under the magical inspiration of graffiti artists, have become even more lively and adorable.

2、Dong An Nan Road

Dong An Nan Road, located by the Fu River, boasts both Chengdu’s most romantic and spring-like colors, and the leisurely atmosphere of the green Tianfu Greenway.

There are seven buildings in total, each a different candy color. People who live here seem to live in a rainbow. Tiffany blue, jujube pink, lemon yellow, sunset orange… it’s not an exaggeration to call it “Hong Kong Rainbow Village” or “Procida Island in Italy”~

Through the balcony, you can still feel the everyday life of the old residential area, like a blend of life and fairytale. Come here to wander on a sunny day, enjoy a street coffee, and take some artistic and fresh photos, easily capturing the attention of your friends on social media.

3、Zao Zi Lane

Located between Xi An Zhong Road and Xi Yi Huan Road, Zao Zi Lane is probably the most unique creative old street alley in Chengdu. The towering metal archway, with its simple black, red, and white color scheme, easily transports you back to the Republic of China era, as if a “ding-ding-dong” tram will stop right in front of you in the next second.

Across the street, the iron street signs and “gray brick and tiled roofs” of the buildings, without even stepping into Zao Zi Lane, just a glimpse from afar, you can feel its strong Republican style.

The pavilions by the road blend in with the Republican-style residential buildings, made in an antique style. It’s a great place to stroll and ride your bike on the weekend, the hustle and bustle of everyday life will be smoothed away by this street~

4、Wang Fu Street

Wang Fu Street may only be 100 meters long, but it’s packed with content. Vintage stores, cafes, baozi shops, beer bars… some people love it for its wide variety of small shops, while others love it for its quiet and leisurely atmosphere.

On this street, you can drink flavorful niche coffee, eat unique Southeast Asian food, and find exquisite vintage items. Be prepared to check in from the beginning of the street to the end~
