Preface:

Every time I go home, I have to pass by Hua Shan. From the window of the train, I look out at the distant, overlapping, vast stretches of white stones, which seem to be filled with mystery, waiting for people to explore. I love climbing mountains, I love the challenge of reaching the limit all the way, I love the feeling of being drenched in sweat, and I love the feeling of climbing to the top and overlooking all the mountains. This time, the weather was pleasant, so I decided to climb Hua Shan.

Arrived at Yuquan Road at 2 pm – Bought equipment – Night climb to the East Peak at 9 pm – Arrived at the East Peak at 4 am – Watched the sunrise at 5:30 – South Peak – West Peak – Down the West Peak cable car at 11 am

Main expenses for Hua Shan

100 yuan for a guesthouse in Yuquan Road for one night; 90 yuan for Hua Shan entrance ticket (student ticket) + 10 yuan for insurance; 30 yuan for eagle’s turn + 30 yuan for a photo; 30 yuan for the long sky plank road; 140 yuan for the West Peak cable car, 90% off for student tickets, but I didn’t pay attention and didn’t buy it + 40 yuan for the bus; equipment (purchased at Yuquan Road at the foot of the mountain); 6 yuan for a rented headlamp + battery; 40 yuan for a rented coat + trousers; 20 yuan for a rented sleeping bag, but the poster didn’t want to carry it so didn’t rent it; 8 yuan for a raincoat; 15 yuan for a rented backpack; 10 yuan for a small peace lock; 3 yuan for gloves; a total of 550 yuan.

The poster returned home from the Northeast, Liaoning to Chengdu, alone. He suddenly decided to climb Hua Shan, so he changed his train ticket. It was very casual! However, there were no sleeper berths to Hua Shan, so he started to make up for the ticket as soon as he got on the train. Well, you can have a good rest.

Arrived at Hua Shan station. You can see the weather is pretty good, clear skies, bright sunshine, you can even see Hua Shan in the distance. But why did it start raining as soon as I got on the mountain? It was cold and tiring at dawn, and it was also raining and windy. Can you imagine? So, I’m going to write some things to watch out for. Pay attention, friends!!!

1
At Hua Shan station, there are many taxi drivers who try to scam people by saying that the 608 bus doesn’t reach Hua Shan scenic area and that you can take a taxi for a minimum of 20 yuan. Don’t believe them, the 608 costs 3.5 yuan to reach the Hua Shan Visitor Center. Of course, you can take a taxi if you want.

2 There is a bus from Hua Shan Visitor Center to the train station at 7:00 pm at the latest.

3 Even if the weather at the foot of Hua Shan is hot, the temperature at night on the mountain is around 5 to 6 degrees Celsius. So be sure to bring long sleeves and trousers, and remember to bring hiking shoes to climb the mountain.

4 The cheapest peace locks at the foot of the mountain are 10 yuan each, but at the top of the East Peak, West Peak, and South Peak, they are 5 yuan each.

5 Everyone told me that the wind is strong on the mountain, so don’t bring an umbrella. So I believed them. When I got to the top of the mountain, I realised it was a mistake. If I had an umbrella, I would have a place to hide from the rain.

6 Water and fruit get more and more expensive the higher you go up the mountain. It’s best to buy everything you need at the foot of the mountain and carry it up the mountain.

7 It will be very cold at the East Peak. You don’t need to go up the mountain too early. You have plenty of time to go up the mountain at 10:30 pm. It usually takes about 6 hours to climb up.
