Actually, there are many places in our lives that are not necessarily world-famous, but the scenery here must be unique. Why do we say so? As we all know, when a tourist attraction becomes more popular, it loses its most authentic state. The really fun places are very primitive, the attractions here are indeed beautiful, but they haven’t been developed. The people here are very simple, and such attractions are the most natural and beautiful. The place I’m going to introduce to you today has this characteristic, and that place is Arcos de la Frontera, Spain.
Once a mountain city that served as a military fortress, it was the best geographical location during the war. It is precisely because of this geographical location that it is difficult to break through. Now it has become a scenic town in southern Spain. Walking in such streets, there is a peaceful scenery everywhere, which is very beautiful.
The houses where the residents live are all white, as if they were unified. The white town on the top of the mountain against the blue sky is a perfect scenery from every angle. And these houses built on the mountain, when it gets dark, look like small lanterns from a distance, which is very cute.
Assumption of the Virgin Mary Church
The Santa Maria Church of Arcos, which was built in the 14th century, is a landmark building here. Of course, there is also the Castle of the Dukes of Arcos, located in the center of the town. The heart of the town unfolds around the castle. Next to the castle is the town hall, and opposite the castle and the town hall is the oldest church in the town – the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Church.
Every week when people pray, the villagers come here together. I actually like this church and this faith. It is a good thing for people to have faith in their hearts. Many times when bad things happen, if you have faith in your heart, then there is still hope.
