2、Scenic Spot Introduction
Dou Tuan Mountain, a wonder of the world, is an important part of the Jianmen Shu Dao National Scenic Area. Located 25 kilometers north of Jiangyou City, 66 kilometers from Mianyang, and over 170 kilometers from Chengdu, it is a famous Danxia landform scenic area in China. Its transportation is convenient and the environment is pleasant. Dou Tuan Mountain is famous for its unique peaks, thrilling cableways, ancient temples, and various distinctive tourism attractions.
Not far from the peak, there is a Yunyan Temple where you can go to see the treasured Taoist relic, “Flying Heaven Hidden”. The iron chain suspension bridge of Chuanling is considered to be a wonder of the world. You can see thrilling high-wire performances from the top of the mountain. Legend has it that Dou Chuan (character Ziming) was a magistrate of Zhangming (now Jiangyou City) during the Tang Dynasty who lived in seclusion here, hence the name. From the foot of the mountain to the top is about 5 kilometers, with a winding path, lush trees, and beautiful scenery.
