1、Scenic Area Introduction

Yishan is known as the “First Unique Mountain in the World”, combining the grandeur of Mount Tai, the wonders of Mount Huangshan, and the danger of Mount Hua, and has the reputation of “Wonder of Tai’s South” and “Beautiful Records of Zou and Lu”. Yishan, also known as “Zou Yishan”, “Zou Mountain”, and “East Mountain”, is located 10 kilometers southeast of Zou City, Jining City, Shandong Province, with an altitude of 582 meters. It has beautiful and unique natural landscapes and rich cultural landscapes. Yishan is named because of its “countless strange rocks, mountains without soil, piles of rocks connected together, as if connected by threads, hence the name “Yishan”. Yishan is also one of the nine famous mountains in ancient China where people aspired to be.

The main landscapes of Yishan include: Four Great Academies, Five Great Wonders, Eight Brocades, Eight Great Mountain Gates, Nine Dragon Cave, Twelve Blessed Lands, Twenty-Four Scenery, Thirty-Six Heavenly Caves, Seventy-Two Famous Stones, etc. The main attractions include: “Ao” character inscription, Panlong Cave, Bagua Stone, Baiyun Palace, Yiyang Academy, Guotong Academy, Zisi Academy, and Spring and Autumn Academy.
