Singapore is a super prosperous city-state with a very developed financial industry. Many foreigners come to travel here every day. Singapore is known as the Garden City, where everything is beautiful and lovely. Below is a sharing of the Singapore self-guided tour guide.
Singapore Trip: Ticket Part
First, apply for a passport, which can be processed in about 20 days. Children also need to apply for a passport. Decide on your departure date and start paying attention to ticket prices half a year in advance.
Shanghai Pudong International Airport – Singapore Changi Airport
I booked it on Ctrip, although Ctrip is always complained about, it’s actually quite convenient.
International tickets only require a passport number, not an ID card.
Ticket Price: Each airline has a different price. China Eastern Airlines has a moderate price, and each person can check in at most two pieces of luggage, each not exceeding 23kg. For airlines with cheaper tickets, the weight of carry-on luggage is smaller, and extra weight will be charged. I don’t know the details. We booked it on China Eastern Airlines, 5 adults and a 20-month-old baby.
Round Trip Tickets: Each adult 2568 yuan, baby ticket 1180 yuan.
International Travel Insurance 155 yuan * 5,
Aviation Accident Insurance 30 yuan * 10
Wifi Rental: 11 days 242 yuan
Total Price: 12769.
After the ticket booking is completed: You can select your seats in advance. The first row seats are better (you can stretch your legs freely), but unfortunately, we didn’t get them. The second best is the middle of the fuselage, which is less affected by turbulence during flight (personal feeling). The window seat has a good view, you can see fluffy clouds and blue sky. It is especially beautiful to see the night view of the surrounding islands and cities when you arrive in Singapore.
Singapore Trip – Visa
It was also applied for through Ctrip, 198 yuan per person, 5 people, 990 yuan, express delivery fee 10 yuan, a total of 1000 yuan. Children also need visas.
Required Materials: Just prepare according to the details.
The process for a tourist visa is relatively relaxed. If you are opening a proof of assets, it is recommended that the total amount of deposits for all travelers should be 50,000 yuan. Otherwise, you can open a work certificate and you don’t need to open a proof of assets.
Special Reminder:
If your passport was not issued within the past three months, the photos you provide cannot be the same as the photos on your passport. This is a tip from my colleague.
Singapore Trip – Transportation
The plane was delayed, and we arrived in Singapore at 11pm. After leaving the airport, my sister came to pick us up, which saved us a lot of trouble.
All the way home was lined with shady green trees. Although it was already night, you could still see the flowers blooming brightly on the roadside. It is indeed the Garden City.
Every time I see the flowers blooming so well on the roadside, I can’t help but wonder how Singapore has a long summer, the flowering period is so long, are the flowers tired from blooming?
Singapore Airport is very convenient, with taxis, 8-seater minibuses, and you can also take the subway. The taxi is too small, you can take it if you don’t have much luggage. If you have a lot of luggage, you can line up to book a minibus, which costs 60 Singapore dollars per vehicle.
The Singapore subway is also very convenient. If you are not in a hurry, you can take the subway.
It is recommended to get a transport card, which can save you some money. If you buy a single ticket every time, it will be much more expensive.
This time, we have 5 adults in Singapore for 9 days. Only the subway transport card costs about 200 Singapore dollars, which is about 1,000 yuan in RMB.
Singapore Trip – Sightseeing Part
1. Merlion Park – The symbol and symbol of Singapore
There are 4 merlions in Singapore, we went to the one by the Singapore River. It is said to be the Merlion mother and a baby. The Merlion father is at Sentosa Island, and there is another baby at Faber Mountain (I haven’t been there, so I don’t know which one it is).
Take the subway on the green line to Raffles Place and get off. You need to walk for a while. You can navigate yourself or check online.
After the tour, there are some places to eat and drink near the Singapore River. Of course, because it is close to the scenic spot, the prices are high.
2. Gardens by the Bay – Get off at the Bayfront station on the yellow line of the subway and follow the signs. Gardens by the Bay is near Marina Bay Sands.
We went to Flower Dome, Cloud Forest, and OCBC Skyway. Check the ticket prices yourself, many travel websites have them, and some offer discounts.
3. Chinatown – Similar to Chinatown, the residents are mostly Chinese, but there are also Indians and others. Take the blue line of the subway to Chinatown and get off. You need to walk a little way to get to the bustling area.
There are many shops selling souvenirs and small items. Relatively speaking, the items in Chinatown are a bit cheaper.
Singapore Trip – Sightseeing Part Two
Sentosa Island, there are many attractions, like an amusement castle, one day is not enough to play. We spent two days playing. We only played a part of it.
Take the yellow line of the subway to Harbourfront station and get off, then go directly to the third floor of VivoCity mall and take the Sentosa Express to Sentosa Island.
Four stations at different places,
We went to the second station and played at Universal Studios, the Water Park, and the S.E.A. Aquarium.
The third station has the Merlion father and many other fun things waiting for you.
You can go to the beach at the fourth station. Our little Spider-Man was happiest that day, he could play in the water.
Sentosa is a new amusement kingdom in Singapore, with many projects inside, including water parks, cable cars, and extreme adventures. I won’t introduce them in detail. There are many online guides about Sentosa…
Singapore Trip – Sightseeing Part Three
Singapore has many commercial areas, it is very convenient to buy things, but it is also very wasteful.
IMM, also known as the outlet mall, has many brands on sale; Westgate, Orchard Road, Junction 8, basically every subway station has places to shop.
Here’s what else we did:
We stayed near the Botanic Gardens, so it was convenient to go there.
The Botanic Gardens are free of charge.
The garden is full of green plants, and many trees that have grown for many years are well preserved.
Pigeons eat around us, not afraid at all.
There are many fish and turtles in the lake, popping up from time to time.
When we went there, many people were taking their children to play on the grass.
Seeing our little guy running around freely on the grass, we felt so happy.
It was the right decision to take him abroad for a trip.
In just 10 days, we have already felt our little guy growing up, learning a lot of things.
He got excited seeing the subway, chattering non-stop, holding his own subway card, and successfully swiping it once. He felt a sense of achievement…
Singapore Trip – Sightseeing Part Four
Singapore Zoo
Tickets can be booked online. The zoo is far from the city center and there is no direct subway. However, there is a free shuttle bus to the subway station.
The zoo is not big, but the layout is clever. Some animals are kept in open enclosures. Many animals can be observed up close by children. The animal species are not that many.
Singapore Trip – Food
Many of the dishes in Singapore are Chinese adaptations.
Some famous dishes include: Bak Kut Teh (pork rib soup), Hainanese chicken rice, chili crab, Laksa noodles, nasi lemak, kaya toast, etc.
We basically just had some simple food at home for breakfast.
We ate out for lunch and dinner.
We spent about 900 Singapore dollars on food.
Singapore Trip – Accommodation
We stayed at my sister’s house this time, so we saved on accommodation.
Hotels in Singapore are expensive, so it’s best to book in advance.
Since we didn’t go to hotels, we don’t know what hotels to recommend.
You can search for guides online.
This little kid was completely fascinated by the fish.
Singapore Trip – Summary
Singapore is not big, there are no provinces or cities, it’s a country and a city at the same time. Overall, it’s worth a visit. We went for 9 days and only visited a part of the place.
If you are traveling with children, it is still recommended to travel independently. Group tours are more restrictive, and visiting places is like rushing from one place to another.
Singapore has a long summer, but it rains almost every day during the rainy season, which is generally comfortable. Be sure to bring an umbrella when going out.
If you are lucky, you can meet squirrels on the roadside.
Birds are everywhere and not afraid of humans. It feels like the animals living there are quite happy.
