The landmark building of the Old Post Office in Manhattan, New York, USA, is known to many who are familiar with American culture. This building, full of historical traces, carries a lot of historical information and its commemorative value is doubled. Here is a travel guide to the Old Post Office in Manhattan, New York.
Every time I come to this post office located in the town of PortChester, New York, I can’t help but admire this landmark building full of history and decoration, all of which are from 1932, in the Colonial Revival style. In 1989, this building was designated a National Historic Landmark by the federal government.
I have been to this post office several times. The first time I saw it, I was amazed and took out my phone to take pictures, but I was stopped and told that the post office does not allow photography. I wanted to take pictures several times later, but I didn’t dare to violate the rules. When I came here again this time, there was a long queue at the post office. I was really bored and started to take pictures secretly with my iPhone. I was in a hurry without being able to find an angle or focus, and although the quality of the pictures was not good, it did show the style and grandeur of the old building!

Stepping into the post office, the first thing that catches your eye are the murals on all four walls, taking up every wall space. Besides the large murals, there are also small murals near the roof, surrounding all four walls of the post office. These murals were all created by the artist Domenico Mortellito.
