1. The Red Route
Shuangqing Villa – Laiqingxuan – East Side Flat Houses of Shuangqing Villa – Xiaobailou – Sixin She – Duoyun Ting – Lizhu Lou – Zhenfang Lou, Zhennan Fang
The most popular route in the park is undoubtedly the former site of the Communist Party of China’s Beijing Xiangshan Revolutionary Memorial. The eight revolutionary sites include the Shuangqing Villa where Mao Zedong lived and worked, the Laiqingxuan where Zhu De, Liu Shaoqi, Zhou Enlai, and Ren Bishi lived and worked, the East Side Flat Houses of Shuangqing Villa which housed the security guard of the Communist Party of China, the Xiaobailou which was the Communist Party of China’s library, the Sixin She and Duoyun Ting which were the residences of the Communist Party of China’s Propaganda Department, the Lizhu Lou which was the Xiangshan dedicated telephone exchange, and the Zhenfang Lou and Zhennan Fang which were the Communist Party of China’s General Office. These eight revolutionary sites are all located in the South Mountain area, at a moderate distance from each other. The entire route takes about 2 hours, and visitors can follow the recommended route to fully understand the working and living conditions of the Communist Party of China during its time in Xiangshan.
2. The Buddhist Route
Biyun Temple – Xiangshan Temple
Xiangshan Park has one temple in the south and one in the north, namely the Xiangshan Temple in the South Mountain and the Biyun Temple in the North Mountain. The two temples share the same characteristic of being built layer by layer following the contours of the mountains, revealing different views at each level. Especially in autumn, the natural mountain scenery becomes the most exquisite and most varied natural backdrop, setting off the temple’s ever-changing appearance; while the differences between the two temples lie in their unique characteristics and charm. Biyun Temple is ancient and elegant, peaceful and harmonious, while Xiangshan Temple is magnificent and splendid, with a secret garden that is a world apart.
3. The Hiking Route
Qinzhengdian – Zhiyuan Zhai – Zhishongyuan – Duojingting – Yuhuaxiu – Xiangwu Ku – Xianglufeng, etc.
Xiangshan Zhonglu: The entire route is shaded by trees, cool and comfortable, with a relatively even upward slope. It passes by attractions such as Yuhuaxiu where you can stop and rest, lean on the railing and look out at the distance, the mountain breeze blowing gently, how pleasant it is.
4. The Sky View Route
Take the cable car to take in the panoramic view of Xiangshan Mountain, soaring high in the air, smelling the fragrance of the mountain and gazing at the capital.
