There is a very nice scenic spot near Deyang, which is Mount Wawushan. Although the scenic spot became popular because of its snow scenery, the scenery in summer is no less impressive. You can spend a weekend going to the scenic spot to play.
DAY1: Deyang-Mount Wawushan
Mount Wawushan’s snow scenery became popular last year, but many people don’t know that the summer on Mount Wawushan, with lush greenery and cascading waterfalls, is also a great place for summer vacation.
Mount Wawushan has 300,000 acres of natural Davidia involucrata forest. It just so happens that Davidia involucrata is now in bloom. Davidia involucrata is a rare and precious plant unique to China, known as a “living fossil” and a “green giant panda”.
Davidia involucrata blooming period: late April-early June
Mount Wawushan has about 600,000 acres of rhododendron forest, with more than 40 varieties. It can be said to be one of the best rhododendron viewing spots in China, where you can see various rhododendrons blooming from the mountainside to the top.
Rhododendron season: May to early June
Waterfall group
Mount Wawushan has about 70 hanging banner waterfalls. These waterfalls, streams, and trees form a natural gallery, where you can also see strange trees all over the mountain, vines intertwined, and covered with moss.
Sān Xīng Waterfall: This is the underground river of Mount Wawushan, which flows all year round, even more spectacular in the summer.
Lán Xī Waterfall: It is about 2,600 meters above sea level. Lán Xī also originates from the “Mi Hún Dàng”, 2,500 meters long, with a drop of more than 1,000 meters.
Yuān Xī Kǒu, Yāng Xī Kǒu: The stream is named after the Yuān Yāng pond, the stream falls from the mountaintop, hanging on the cliff, with misty air, forming abundant negative oxygen ions.
DAY2: Liǔ Jiāng Ancient Town-Deyang
You don’t need to get up too early on the second day, you can drive towards Liǔ Jiāng Ancient Town around 9 or 10 o’clock. Liǔ Jiāng Ancient Town is not big, there are only two streets you can walk, the stone slab street and the riverside old street, but the mountains, streams, and stilt houses here are perfectly integrated, the scenery is very beautiful. You can walk around and rest here, if you are tired, you can take a break at a teahouse on the street and taste the delicacies of the ancient town. The temperature difference in the mountains is relatively large, so pay attention to keeping warm after playing in the water. The journey is long, so pay attention to safety.
