Jeju Island is located in South Korea and is a typical tourist island. The natural scenery here is quite good. The air and environment are good, and it contains a lot of Chinese elements. There are many Chinese tourists coming here. Below I will share with you some of the delicious local specialties in Jeju Island.
“Juan’er, let’s go to South Korea with me for New Year’s Day. You have your passport, right? I’ll buy your round trip plane ticket. I’ll arrange your food and accommodation when you get there. You just need to go.”
Hearing this, you must be very surprised, such a good thing actually happened. That’s right, this is my cousin who does online shopping. At that time, online shopping wasn’t very popular yet. I was still in college and was so excited!
“Okay, sister. I have my passport, but don’t we need a visa to go to South Korea?”
“We’re going to Jeju Island, which is visa-free. You just need your passport. Get a bigger suitcase, and help me bring back some goods.”
“Oh, okay, I understand.”
So I started to prepare the things I need to bring for the trip. There was still some time before departure, I thought about learning a few Korean phrases, so I found some videos online and started watching them.
My heart was filled with anticipation for Jeju Island.
Airport
Finally, the day of departure arrived. My cousin and I met up and took a taxi to the airport. This was my first time flying, so I was a little excited and a little scared.
The flight to Jeju Island was quick. After the plane took off and stabilized, I drank a beverage, and it was time to prepare for landing.
My ears were a bit uncomfortable due to the air pressure, luckily I had chewing gum, which helped to relieve the discomfort.
We arrived in Jeju Island at night. It was one hour ahead of Beijing time. My cousin’s friend came to pick us up.
He was an ethnic Korean from Yanbian, Jilin Province, so he could speak Korean.
We took a taxi to our booked hotel.
The hotel room had underfloor heating. We washed up and went to bed.
I couldn’t sleep very well and was looking forward to the next day’s itinerary.
Finally, morning arrived in Jeju Island.
But my cousin told me that the shops here don’t open until around 10 am. However, there was a breakfast shop near the hotel that opened quite early. We ate egg rolls and ramen.
After breakfast, we walked around and saw many cosmetics stores. Mannequin figures were standing with star endorsements. As a fan, I was a little excited.

My cousin’s main purpose was to stock up on goods, so we went to the duty-free shop first. But I don’t know much about cosmetics, I only saw many big-name stores. Many Korean brands were translated into Chinese. This is what they look like in Chinese.
Then I realized that there were many Chinese signs in Jeju Island. It was even more outrageous in the duty-free shop. Salespeople could all speak Chinese. The reason is that there are so many Chinese tourists coming here. Some counters can even pay in RMB directly. Seeing the crowds of Chinese people, I couldn’t help but marvel at the purchasing power of the Chinese!

Finally, it was noon. I wanted to eat! My cousin asked me what I wanted to eat. I said anything was fine, haha.
Every table in Korean restaurants has a chopstick box containing silver chopsticks and spoons, as well as a large bottle of cold boiled water. They will first serve a few small dishes, containing kimchi, pickled radish, etc. Soon, my fried rice arrived. Seeing the seaweed made me feel hungry.
Raw beef is quite heavy, this is hard to swallow.
After lunch, my cousin said that her friend would treat us to BBQ in the evening. I was already hungry after finishing lunch.
After walking around for a while, my cousin said we would go for afternoon tea. The bread served before the meal at this restaurant was delicious. They provided it so customers could have a snack before the main course.

We ordered pasta and steak. Oh my god, I was going to be stuffed. So much food, I couldn’t finish it. It turned out that my cousin’s friend was coming over, so we would eat together.
This looks pretty appetizing, I don’t know how it tastes. After trying it, I found it’s similar to Chinese dishes.
We ate barbecue in the evening. I spent the whole day eating.
Before going back to the hotel, I bought some banana milk and oranges. The oranges in Jeju Island are famous. I learned about them from the Korean drama “My Girl.” I fell asleep surrounded by the sweetness of oranges.
