Yulei Mountain was formerly known as Pingshan. More than 2,200 years ago, Li Bing, the prefect of Shujun, led the people to build the Dujiangyan irrigation system. He burned rocks with firewood here, creating the Baopingkou. The small mountain body that was separated was called “Lidui”.

In the early years of the Tang Dynasty, the Jade Terrace Pass was built on the ancient road in Guan Kou, and later the name of the pass was changed to the name of the mountain. Du Fu once wrote in a poem, “The spring color of the Jinjiang River comes to the heaven and earth, the jade platform clouds change the past and present”, the jade platform refers to this mountain.
