Since August 28, 2023, HIT has fully opened its campus for visits. No appointment is needed and there is no limit on the number of visitors. HIT has become a new “scenic spot.”

HIT’s “Two Museums and One Center” remain open during the holidays, with a combination of “culture” and “science popularization.”

At the HIT Museum, you can experience HIT’s excellent educational tradition, profound cultural heritage, and brilliant achievements. The currently ongoing “Colorful Intangible Cultural Heritage, Inheriting Beauty” Jiamusi Intangible Cultural Heritage Creative Products HIT Special Exhibition is also eye-catching. Fish skin paintings, paper cutting, Dongzhu (a type of pearl), agarwood, and Galaga (a type of toy) allow you to experience the unique charm of traditional culture up close.

At the HIT Aerospace Museum, you can not only visit real objects and models to learn about the development history of China’s aerospace industry, but also experience the “Tribute to Chinese Aerospace – China’s Aerospace Enters the Space Station Application and Development Stage” Aerospace Special Philatelic Exhibition.

On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the founding of HIT, in order to express gratitude to the HIT research team for their outstanding contributions to the national major scientific project FAST, the National Astronomical Observatories of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, after approval by the International Astronomical Union’s Minor Planet Center, named the asteroid 1996 LN, discovered on June 7, 1996, by the Schmidt CCD Asteroid Project Team of the National Astronomical Observatories of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, as “HIT Star.” Its discovery date coincides with the founding date of HIT.

The Aerospace Museum includes four themed exhibition halls, two special exhibition halls, and hundreds of exhibits, comprehensively showcasing the development history of the aerospace industry. It is one of the first national science popularization education bases, a national primary and secondary school research study and practice education base, and a patriotic education base in Heilongjiang Province. It is the largest, most comprehensive, and most numerous aerospace-themed museum among universities in China, and the only professional museum in Northeast China that integrates aerospace technology real objects and models with aerospace knowledge introduction.

10. Museum

Pushing open the arched door of this old building located at No. 59, Gongsi Street, a simple and heavy atmosphere rushes over you. This is the Harbin Institute of Technology Museum. The HIT Museum is a national scientist spirit education base and a patriotic education base in Heilongjiang Province. It holds HIT’s long history, as well as new achievements made in the process of becoming a world-class university. Warm tips:

For campus visits, no appointment is required and there is no limit on the number of visitors. Entry time is from 8:30 to 16:30, and visitors should leave the campus by 19:00 on the same day. Visitors should enter and exit through designated school gates with valid ID cards such as ID cards or passports. The designated entrance channels for visitors are the Xida Straight Street Gate of Campus 1, Huanghe Road Gate of Campus 2, Science Park, and Xinglu Gate. If there are important events or extreme weather conditions within the school, and the campus cannot be opened as scheduled, please comply with the school’s arrangements.

The school is a teaching and research institution, not a tourist attraction, and does not charge any fees for visits to any organizations or individuals.

Opening time is 8:30, closing time is 17:00, and entry is stopped at 16:30. During the spring semester and fall semester of each year, the opening hours are from Tuesday to Sunday every day.
